I ordered my Xtr 695 today

it is a feature rich RD with good real world performance. Always nice to see support for Mike B. and the Whistler team

Because Ka detection is overrated....lol

I like the package in the Xtr695 and not really sure about the either or for the SE 690 and SE 78. So far the Xtr695 has proved itself and I have not seen any tests of those upcoming model. Plus Im very impatient.

I hope you enjoy your new XTR695, I have one and really like the RSID. I have been getting an increase in Ka false alerts here. At Christmas time, I was dismayed when I went to Costco to find 2 large pallets loaded with Cobra 9960 detectors. I think a lot of kids got them for Christmas presents. That being said, you tell rather quickly with the 695 if a Ka alert is false or not. If it doesn't show a frequency when you get a Ka alert more than likely it's a false one. I had read about that feature before I actually purchased it. The strength of the RSID didn't really sink till I saw it action.

I hope you enjoy the new Grand Cherokee, I have an older one and it sure came in handy with all the snow we had this past winter.

I have an XTR695 also. Really like it. I turned POP off and X band off as neither are used in our area. That quieted it down a lot.

Ka Max is a big deal to some people and that is fine. I hope that the Ka Max feature will exceed all of our expectations. Whether it does or not doesn't matter to me, I won't be purchasing either one unless something happens to my 695, after all, I just got it last year. The Ka detection is more than good enough for me, in all honesty, here have been times that the range was so good that I could of toyed with the cops. I don't see any reason for more sensitivity in my area since the police here are not very zealous when it comes to catching speeders. I am a believer in using what is adequate, in this case, the 695 is more than adequate. I will be watching for reviews on the new whistler models.
