Lubbock ..A Fast RD is a must in TEXAS. Who cares about constant on. I would rather have a 1/2 mile warning of quick trigger.
Heck yes it is. I live in Odessa. Good to see another person that appreciates Whistler's alertiveness.
Re: Whistler with superb Instant on at GOL 2009
Let us remember if I am correct every detector from top to bottom gave alert before the capture zone in the constant on testing. Instant on is being used a lot in most areas and the Whistlers performance in this area is one of it's strengths.
It is just a matter of time before the Whistler has the sensitivity of the belscorts if they continue to improve and stay with the trend I am seeing.

Sigh, it seems that no matter what, djrams will always find a way to sour the day of the Whistler owners. He will never admit that Whistlers are excellent performers. Like Stealth said, I would also take my XTR-690 over any Belscort any day?
Who needs 2+ mile detection when it can't even detect QT I/O couple hundred feet away?
I think part of djrams problem is that he just can't face the fact that my $150 RD outperforms his $1400+ RD on everything but range. But as I mentioned before, no one NEEDS 2+ mile range, it's nice, but sure as hell not worth hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars extra.
:lol::lol: Some Whistler owners need to stop being so sensitive. Dj is showing facts and the choice is yours. Dont be so quick to get on the defensive and lets keep this discussion positive.
Well, I'm not being sensitive to just this post. He's always bashing Whistler for them not being so "sensitive". In my book, there are two levels of "sensitivity" in the RD world, reacting to low level of signal (Range) and reacting to low level of signal length (I/O or Q/T). And taking this into account, there is only one top performer, the V1 (Listen to me, I sound like a Zombie).
Also, taking that into mind, and taking into mind that the future prospect of the RD world seems like Q/T and I/O will be the dominant form of radar usage, I would take an RD with stellar performance with Q/T than with huge range.
Just my two cents.

How far would you say this I/O shot in the "real world" that the Whistler missed that my 9500ci picked up in this video was? 2 miles? 3 miles? Um, no. More like 1/8 mile, if that. This is the point that none of you Whistler zombies seems to get. There is more to detecting an I/O shot than just responsiveness. This point is made in the GOL data, where the Whistlers were 0 for 16 at the further distance.

These Whistlers false Ka band. No Belscort I've ever used has this problem. These Whistlers constantly misidentify X and K band. No Belscort I've ever used has this problem. Sorry, but I feel that it is absolutely inexcusible that a top-of-the-line RD in 2009 has trouble identifying X and K band. When I turned off X band on my Whistlers, they just called all of the X band false alerts K band. I was dumbfounded! The point of turning off X band is to make a RD quieter. If said RD then just calls all of the X band false alerts K band, that is epic fail in my book!

Excellent point. Let me rephrase. Ka band false alerts happen to every RD, because cheap RDs are everywhere. Every other RD I use does an excellent job filtering them out. These false alerts are maybe monthly. On these Whistlers, they are basically constant, if I try to use them in filter mode, and they are at least daily in filter2.

Like this Snoopy? DPS just tags people in there 1/2 second triggers or 1-2 seconds. I got around 7-8 seconds to get down to PSL. :D I had to find my camera to start filming this happen so suddenly

Re: Whistler with superb Instant on at GOL 2009
looks more like 4-5 second instant on shots in that video jag than Q/T.
Re: Whistler with superb Instant on at GOL 2009
I noticed that the Pro78SE and XTR690SE where tested but not the XTR695SE. I wonder why?
Also, I saw that the XTR-130 was listed in the Spectre test but was not on the list of RD included in the test and did not see it listed for any of the other tests.

Whistler has a lag time to hold a signal longer than it is. This was noticed on my Whistler response video. I could do half second trigger pulls and it would alert 2-3 times longer.
