I would be happy with a Remote 78se...I like the performance of the SE. The main thing that makes me wish they would hurry and put it on sale is that I really do not have a Rd hanging on my windshield. I like the clean stealth look.

I suspect that Mike is working on a new antenna right now for the next generation of whistlers. They have achieved this much with a fairly old antenna. They need to do a few things, like a better processor to be able to scan each band individually instead of scanning x and k together and ka separately, they should increase reactivity and stop the mixing of the signals. But what he needs to do is redesign the receiving side of the antenna to increase sensitivity. If they could add another 3-5 db to the antenna on the k and ka side they would have a detector that would be there right along with the top dogs.
So what they need are:
a fast chip or another chip to split the work
a new antenna to increase sensitivity
and software to make it all work together. If all they do is this they will actually have a great detector base that they can put in different models.

TBH this sounds very much like a response leaning to a repackaged 78SE regarding that units performance... since spec sheets never give us any real pertinent information regarding what we really want to know: Sensitivity gains in -dbs. ***I have been on here long enough to REMEMBER (before all these pup chows were on here) the incident that occurred regarding (others) db numbers... so I would by no means ask for actual numeric values [ie: -108db @ 34.7Ghz) but rather ask simply how much has been gained with no reference point: (ie: a -2,-3db etc gain on x-band etc.). *** This is excitement not rudeness, please don't take it as such. :D
Ok, Ok, Michael I'm done putting you on the spot for now, but I dnk how long I can last before these spec details can be released... Regardless of how much flurry has gone up and attention received (which likely wasn't fully intentional at this point)... please don't rush this product to sale... we really don't need to be beta-testers mate... as much as we want to get our grubby little mittens on the products. :p
Converse to the first remark I made... this part of your response has peaked my interests.
So I am something like this here...

I want two!
Sounds good ..Good job Mike B and Whistler team.
x2, no matter how much I critique the Whistler team, I cannot give them anything but props for at least showing they are continually trying to up their detection (and as importantly... if NOT MORE), their feature sets at the same time.
Furthermore, I can't wait for details, details, Details, DETAILS!!!!
I'm glad I came back when I did, I'll be watching for these surprises. :)
I was told we would have answers 2 weeks ago..I want to see details so I know whether to wait to buy or buy another remote mount.
From what I can infer... we should have information about this unit out sometime this week it would appear. Whistler seems to be doing the right thing... and beta testing their own unit to get as many bugs out as possible before release. My only guess is that there was a hold-up via a bug/glitch/issue that is causing the delay (if that is the case, it might be some-time before the unit details are released).
Only M.B. can chime in for sure about exactly what is going on over there at Whistler though...
I was told 2 weeks ago " We will release info next week". Is that the next week of September or October? I was also told they would go on sale in September. Has that changed also.
I was just trying to let you know what I was gathering from my end on what was occurring since I have been keeping the proverbial ear-to-the-ground on this issue as well...
Best thing to do is just message M.B. on the unit... I really don't think Whistler planned on all this occurring so fast regarding SML... heck it seems they made M.B. rush the install at SML of the unit too.
I work @ 10 tomorrow so with my luck it'll be released at their site at 10:01 tomorrow there and 10:02 here, and I'll be 31 posts behind the ball when I get out.
Sorry for the delays, I am looking to get final approval to post the 3600 information.
It's alright mate... poor M.B.: -Whistler holds back the information and you get left out to dry with ~428 questions about the unit.
At least there is interest though... so that's a good thing; I (personally) am wondering about these added features no-one had even asked for... seems hard to believe that there is a single feature we haven't asked for (thought of).
I'm looking forward to the new features also But not the rude comments from Whistler haters.
Well... I'll be honest... Who cares what people say? I am looking at this RD with interest, especially depending on the features. If I get it and I like it... I could give two hoots about what others say about it. I won't be using it for serious speeding if I get it... But that is what high-end rds are for.
I think the problem with so called haters arises when people try to compare whistlers to higher end models.
Personally... I hope this fixes the x-k issue ands adds slightly better detection and a better interface. With that I will be happy and not worry what others think.
Also... It won't let me edit it on the mobile right now... But the above is supposed to include the fact that I am shocked that the details weren't released when I was at work. Maybe it means I am bound to have goodluck with this RD... I am almost always away for breaking news.
I am dying to get the news. I want it as soon as it goes on sale!
^^^
Exactly my point... Whistler only gets knocked down when people compare it to V1 and M3 performance.
Hopefully I will have some East-coast videos of the unit as well... whatever it ends up being and whenever we actually end up hearing about it.
Not again. We have been through this a thousand times. The Veil Guy never posted videos showing the Whistler crushing M3 remotes and that was never his intent. I am not even going to go further as the post history is here for all to see and the constant bashing of The Veil Guy has gotten really old.
Also, negative things are said about Whistlers from specific members all of the time. Any time a Whistler user posts a positive experience it is immediately shot down. The threads get hijacked by non-Whistler users comparing them to the 9500CI along with statements that they don't work in LA...etc. Also, Whistler videos are harshly critiqued, made fun of and given 1 star ratings....just ask Jag42. I see that RR is back and active so things will, hopefully, not get back to the way they were.
I've been using whistlers for over 2 years now and only recently got my first ticket (laser).
The anti whistler hijacking .. hell that grew old the first few days i was on the forum. I try not to feed trolls but how much real world experience do you think some jackass that spends all day here has? As if post count & time online automatically lends credibility in the RD world. Piss off.
IMO most Whistler users aren't delusional & would probably take the highest end v1/belscort over theirs. However that's not really their argument or position. It's about value (& 'feel') (cust. exp, features etc)
I don't have a problem getting what i pay for but I'm not about to believe the current higher end RD's are worth their $500 price tag. Give me a break. Some of these $300-$400 jobs are Dinosaurs. IMO these companies 'give a ****' in any literal sense.
It seems most people just trick themselves (& others) into thinking they 'need' a $500 RD.
Lets try to stay back on topic and encourage Mike B to post the 3600 Specs. I have my Whistler savings account ready to deplete.
We've been trying that for two weeks... sometimes topics go off-track after two-weeks of no progress on the subject matter. It obviously isn't his choice, someone else at Whistler isn't letting him.
FURTHERMORE:
You're the freaking person who brought up 'haters' for the first time in the entire thread... so you asked for it... see post 55.
Someone mentions 'Whistler haters' and look what the cat drags in! :D
