I would be happy with a Remote 78se...I like the performance of the SE. The main thing that makes me wish they would hurry and put it on sale is that I really do not have a Rd hanging on my windshield. I like the clean stealth look.

I suspect that Mike is working on a new antenna right now for the next generation of whistlers. They have achieved this much with a fairly old antenna. They need to do a few things, like a better processor to be able to scan each band individually instead of scanning x and k together and ka separately, they should increase reactivity and stop the mixing of the signals. But what he needs to do is redesign the receiving side of the antenna to increase sensitivity. If they could add another 3-5 db to the antenna on the k and ka side they would have a detector that would be there right along with the top dogs.
So what they need are:
a fast chip or another chip to split the work
a new antenna to increase sensitivity
and software to make it all work together. If all they do is this they will actually have a great detector base that they can put in different models.

TBH this sounds very much like a response leaning to a repackaged 78SE regarding that units performance... since spec sheets never give us any real pertinent information regarding what we really want to know: Sensitivity gains in -dbs. ***I have been on here long enough to REMEMBER (before all these pup chows were on here) the incident that occurred regarding (others) db numbers... so I would by no means ask for actual numeric values [ie: -108db @ 34.7Ghz) but rather ask simply how much has been gained with no reference point: (ie: a -2,-3db etc gain on x-band etc.). *** This is excitement not rudeness, please don't take it as such. :D
Ok, Ok, Michael I'm done putting you on the spot for now, but I dnk how long I can last before these spec details can be released... Regardless of how much flurry has gone up and attention received (which likely wasn't fully intentional at this point)... please don't rush this product to sale... we really don't need to be beta-testers mate... as much as we want to get our grubby little mittens on the products. :p
Converse to the first remark I made... this part of your response has peaked my interests.
So I am something like this here...

I want two!
Sounds good ..Good job Mike B and Whistler team.
x2, no matter how much I critique the Whistler team, I cannot give them anything but props for at least showing they are continually trying to up their detection (and as importantly... if NOT MORE), their feature sets at the same time.
Furthermore, I can't wait for details, details, Details, DETAILS!!!!
I'm glad I came back when I did, I'll be watching for these surprises. :)
I was told we would have answers 2 weeks ago..I want to see details so I know whether to wait to buy or buy another remote mount.
From what I can infer... we should have information about this unit out sometime this week it would appear. Whistler seems to be doing the right thing... and beta testing their own unit to get as many bugs out as possible before release. My only guess is that there was a hold-up via a bug/glitch/issue that is causing the delay (if that is the case, it might be some-time before the unit details are released).
Only M.B. can chime in for sure about exactly what is going on over there at Whistler though...
