Just curious, does anyone know what causes the 690 (and others?) to emit a Ka false when the menu option is active?(Not objectionable) Must have something to do with the way the LO behaves when the menu is active??

I don't know, but your explanation seems to make sense. You can always momentarily press the power button to immediately return to normal operation once you are done with menu settings.
Yeah, this has been the case on all Whistler models I've used -- menu or alert active may trigger a Ka emission that escapes a lot of detectors' filters -- the only unit that has some (75%) success filtering it out is the V1.
I don't know what causes it either.
is there any way to make it stronger its funny to see people slam on the brakes after they speed past me when i hit the menu
Use the Whistler Menu Button for good, not evil...![]()
