690 Menu Ka emission

Just curious, does anyone know what causes the 690 (and others?) to emit a Ka false when the menu option is active?(Not objectionable) Must have something to do with the way the LO behaves when the menu is active??

I don't know, but your explanation seems to make sense. You can always momentarily press the power button to immediately return to normal operation once you are done with menu settings.

I thought you, of all people (actually hoping you would have the answer) would have a better expanation. I just wondered why it does that, not that it bothers me. I know how to exit the menu. Thanks!

Yeah, this has been the case on all Whistler models I've used -- menu or alert active may trigger a Ka emission that escapes a lot of detectors' filters -- the only unit that has some (75%) success filtering it out is the V1.

I don't know what causes it either.
