Using a Whistler 2270 remote as a remote for a V995?

I have the Whistler 2270 remote that was in my audi when I bought (and the detection is horrible). I was wondering if it would work with the V995 (like a V1 hidden dispay)? Under my ashtray there are 3 wires (power,radar and laser). If the radar and laser was disconnected from the remote and I guess the V995 was connected to the power supply to the whistler remote would it work or did I waste my typing skills on this post?

I just hid the power cord through the paneling and did it that way. I dont use my car lighter anyways so looks like i saved myself $20 plus bucks.
