Default what would you rather own the V995 or the V985?

For those who have or owned the V985 what did you like about it most and what did you dislike about it most? I know that it was replaced by the V995 but I am still messing around with it to see if it is better then the V995.

I am pretty sure the member 'amoney' does/did have that RD (I haven't seen him post on here in ages), and he had nothing but good remarks about it from what I can remember, it was a rather high-end Bel in years past.

You could also try to search for his posts about it.

Also try to search for Ford Focus 05, I think he may have been banned, or just doesnt come on anymore, but I believe before he got the V1 he had that RD.

-The only memeber that I remember who has the 985 (who still frequently visits) is GTO 04, I am 98% sure he owns or owned one, so you may have some luck with him... but I am not sure.

I have and run the Vector 985. If I remember correctly, the only difference between the 985 and 995 is the 995 picks up Ku band.

The 995 was marketed as a internation detector at the time.

The 995 has Ku band and POP detection, the 985 does not.

The 995 is newer than the 985 and the 995 is supposed to be able to detect radar from farther away.

I was thinking of the 990 which came out at the same time as the 985. The 995 has POP detection while the 985 and 990 does not.

I own a 985 and tried a 995. It may be just the one I had, but I was not impressed with the 995. My 985 had much better detection range on K and Ka band. The 995 had fewer false alarms, but was less sensitive. I also got a "Service Required" message on the 995, and after that I returned it.

The 985 has Accusweep mode, which is similar to USA mode on the RX-65. The 995 does not have a mode like that, it always scans the entire Ka Superwide radar band.
