Which bands are used

I just changed my rx65 to USA mode I live in BC Canada and my detector seems more sensative on x and k bands! Can someone tell me what bands are used here (Vancouver Island) Thanks.. :?:

Switching from Int to Usa reduces the band width the RX-65 scans for so I guess you might notice the alert earlier on your X and K band door openers if you have a "spot" benchmarked.

As for what they use on the island.... the RCMP right? K and Ka with the some Laser on those nice sunny days.

Whoa Doc,

Unless YOU are absolutely sure there is no X in your area dont be turning it off. You can never be sure that there isnt an old x band unit kicking around out there. ie Native Reserve police

The OPP still have some on the odd motorcycle and we get reports on this board of small town areas with x so be sure before turning it off.

Switching X off wont improve performance on the other bands since I believe the RD will still scan but not report.

Vancouver - X, K, Laser (Ultralyte, Marksman, Stalker LZ1, Laser Atlanta)
(ALL Ka are Kustom Golden Eagle series)

Someone else mentioned about X-band equipped on older VPD bikes. Since I've never had X-band turned on on my RD, I cannot be certain. Beware of laser when you are here. RX65 won't be able to save you.

Thanks,go.mouse for this info!! I will switch my x on when am boarding the ferry to the mainland! X band turned off is awful Quiet. Laser is almost a given to not have warning in time ? As to my understanding..
