Poll: Rx65 or keep v995

i have a v995 but am thinking about getting an rx65 instead. what would you guys do? how close are these two detectors in performance? thanks.

I'd say keep the 995 unless you're having problems with it.

I've got a v995 with s/w version 4.5. This is a nice detector, but I too have noticed the problem with alerts not ramping up. I don't think I've ever seen one bar, it always starts at two. Not a huge deal, but my 745STi didn't do this.

I use the techmode display. Experienced users do learn how to evaluate threats by the alert sounds and frequency. I get varied results using this mode. Meaning, sometimes I pass a known K band source (Radar speed sign) and I get 24.150. The next day the same sign registers as 24.109 or 24.169 the next time I pass. I've not seen this behavior on Ka Band. CHP in the bay area is always 34.708 for me. I believe the corresponds to the Stalker ATR unit. I firmly believe that many of the units currently in use by LE are out of tune.

The 995 and rx65 both have this issue. I don't know if this was changed in s/w version 6.1, but I doubt it or someone would have said something.

Keep your v995. Use it religiously. Eventually something better will be released. I doubt you will have to wait too long. The next time I buy, I'll be sure to ask these and other important questions before purchasing. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my 995.
