My test concluded that the STi has problems when encountering 33.8 ghz. I can only answer your questions regarding the test procedure. Other than that, the video link will speak for itself and make this issue to rest. We should thank GOL for bringing this issue up because if it where not for them, this test would have not been conducted. Stealthjamal, i'm sorry this video is not what you want to see.
This test was an over the hill done early in the morning so traffic is minimize. The vehicle with radar is on your right just parked beside the road and you'll see it before the video clip ends. I've done several tests to see how the STi would perform under normal driving conditions with only one RD and the other tests with 2 RD's in the vehicle. After several runs, the tests concluded that the STi has a problem and i call it a *** Hit or Miss ***. It's either it alerts you or stay silent when it encounters the 33.8 ghz RF which is problematic because the user will think that it's working fine and will never know there is a problem. My earlier test done stationary with radar on my right at 90 degrees did not give me consistent results but thought that it was because the radar was positioned at a 90 degree angle.
I did some video with STi and X50 on and STi with V1 to see what happens when there are 2 detectors running at one time. There were times where both detectors detect the radar soure and at times only the X50 or the V1 will alert you of a radar source which i was suspecting that the X50 or V1 when running with the STi can completely lockout the radar source. So i did more test with just the STi with POP on and off which made no difference because i got inconsistent results and cannot make a conclusion based on it other thn being inconsistent.
Here is the link for the test with only the STi and noticed that the STI was silent even at point blank range where radar vehicle was parked just a few feet away from the road on you right and yo'll see it before the video clip ends. I only had 2 of these results in 8 runs and the rest alerted me to the radar source. All other radar detectors in the vehicle were turned off.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...48236327671137 STi with V1. Arrows confirming location of radar source.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...88092558845590 STi alerting first to 33.8 with V1. This is what i would like to see for the STi - consistent in picking up 33.8 ghz. It even beat my V1 a couple times and the V1 did beat the STi a couple times too. For those who have not done some testing, these video clips are examples that every encounter will get different results even in the same conditions.

Bottomline, the STi has a *** Hit or Miss *** problem. STi used was from a friend made 2307.
I'll let jimbonzz, insiderCW3, Mem-Tek and others to explain what happend because theorithically, i don't know why.
Hopefully this will settle evrything about the STi and put the issue to rest. I hope Bel reps are watching and have done something about it.
Will I ever buy a Belscort product again? Of course.... As long as it works as advertised. [replacer_img] I am very happy with my X50 rev5 and would love to replace it with the STi when the 33.8ghz issue is fixed.
