    Default Thinking of a Sti-R

I was just wondering what you guys thought. I am thinking of getting a STi-R and using it only on Ka band. I have my 9500i I could run for all other bands and use the STi-R only for Ka band since its supposed to be so sensitive. Also I don't think I would not get as many false only using the STi-R for looking for Ka band..What you think?

From the reviews i have read online about both products i think that they are almost equal on the sensitivity detection of Ka Band. but the only why i think to know for sure is to test it for yourself. Even from the 9500i i get very few Ka falses. The only falses i get are from the construction signs on the side of the highway.

Get a 9500ci so you have the GPS to filter falses. I really really wish they would add that feature to the Sti-R.

I' do not need the jammers!!! It is a waste for me to pay $400 difference my cost for something I don't need.

Just think of it as paying $400 for GPS features.

The 9500i + STi-R combo is similar to the 9500ci + V1 combo that category4 and I run, except that you will lack RLC locations, some X and K sensitivity and of course, arrows.

Did you send back the V1?

I think if you go the stiR you would run it on every band and might wind up as your primary detector, it is that good.

Also, in city modes you can filter K band which most escort/bel models you can not do effectively.

I frequently run my 9500i along with my 9500ci and don't run into any issues with the 9500i hurting my 9500ci's Ka band detection abilities. So you should be good to go using your 9500i in conjunction with the STi-R. And yes, you will find the STi-R's Ka band performance to be smoking.

Returned it because it drove me nuts in town..Seemed like the dang thing never shut up and my finger was always cramping from muting it.
