K band is still used by OPP, I encountered it on the 403. Ka band used by Metro Toronto cops. You might still encounted some X band on the way to Montreal. You need to get a jammer to compliment your detector

Very clever indeed! The number on the sign is indeed for the Halton Region Police Service, according to superpages.ca. I didn't think cops anywhere could do that.

X2. On my trip to Montreal last summer I encountered a few OPP running C/O K band, not much X band if I can recall. Regarding laser jammers in Ontario/Quebec, be careful. Make sure you switch off as soon as you are painted.
