Bel STi Ghetto Stealth Part3

This is it. I'm done. No more experimenting. This is just daytime placement for the STi so Leo's can't see it unless they virtually walk right up to my car. The bridge is made from 5"x .5" finished wood from home depot. Height is good enough. RD is sitting 1.5 inches above the dash level so there's no blocked view. It can't be seen from outside since it's sitting between my armrest and seats. Used 3M dual lock for the base for stability. I actually like this.

You don't need to do this if you live outside Virginia or DC.

looks good, great idea..though i think the wood is a bit bulky. could maybe use a real slim piece of wood for the vertical part and horizontal part..or maybe just paint it to match the interior..overall great ideas. i liked all of them..

I bought khaki cloth that matches my interior very well. Stitching is next. Thanks for your comment.

welcome..i must ask though, you said you used 3m tape for the base..i take it that your rd is connected to the platform using velcro??that way if you do somehow get pulled over you can make it disappear really fast(and make it look like you getting you insurance card out of the center console) and come up with the excuse that, that strange object is simply a portable dvd player holder for your kids...

I used 3M mushroom heavy duty velcro for the base. RD base is regular velcro where RD can be easily taken off and hid in the center console lock box. My insurance card is in my wallet and registration in the side lock box.

I was wondering about the execuse for the "Strange Object" and I was thinking about saying the object is for my video cam.

I was little worried about sensitivity since it's placed well beyond the windshield but I can't complaint. It picked off Ka CO near the Springfield mixing bowl and I95 today very well.
