I sent my STI-R in for firmware up date 12/28/09. I'm hoping to get it back by 1/9/10. I sure do miss it,very excited to get it back. It performed very well before I sent it in.I'm hoping it rocks when I get it back Bel won't get it till 1/4/10 so I hope they get right on it and get it back to me. Fingers are crossed.

Well I bought it new but I guess it was old stock. That's a good reason to buy from authorized dealer Bel is upgrading at n/c

Can it be updated on-line?

It's probably not current, but you need to call Bel and ask if that unit has had the ramp-up fix or not. If not, definitely send it in for the update before installing it.

I bought mine around the same time JEM did and it too had a date code of 3508. It too was new old stock. BEL told me that mine was updated, but I was not convinced.

I got in touch with Larry at ESCORT who was great to work with and he told me that I could send it in and have it checked out and gave me an RMA number.

Had to get through the holidays and some business travels but mine went to UPS last night and I hope to have it back in a couple of weeks.

If you have any doubts I would send it in. They will need the CPU and the antenna.

I contacted Bel today and talked to Dave, who was very helpful. He indicated that it needed to be sent in for the upgrade. I could not do it on-line. It is already packed up and sent priority.
