k band on sti

k band radar not as good as my original sti. it lacks almost 400 feet when i tested it all day yesterday. I also noticed it will not pick off the k band door openers at the normal false spots. I will call bel back monday and send it back in.

I assume you just got it back from repair maybe they upgraded the falsing circuitry have you tested it against a real k band gun?

Z1NONLY seemed to have this issue too with his STI R. I've never sent my STI R in and it beats my V1 on every band. Beats the redline too but barely.

My STI Driver was sort of even with my V1. hope you can get it fixed.

um i have real radar guns to test with. I will update my picture to show the new equipment. the old sti i had beat my 8500 x50 by at least a 1/2 mile and now it is about 1/4 behind it. I test them one detector at a time on in the truck. Door openers use the same gunn diodes as police radar. I have a bunch of k and x band door openers too for testing.

Does the "newer" STi have TSR added?

yes it has the tsr software. I have it off . I did find out that is stops the quick trigger response on k band. 1/2 to 3/4 second and under pulse. I have tested the detector with it on and off. qt is a problem in the phoenix, glendale, peoria area

I'll bet the TSR program delays overall response to K band.

when the tsr is on it delays the k band only. otherwise it responds excellent to quick trigger.
