Got hit with it a few times today on the same highway you were on. Yes, the OPP and some local LEO's use I/O. Just don't slam on the brakes after an I/O hit (unless you're in the States)
hard to do that late at night when no one is on the road
and i need to pull data logs for tuning =(
ill just have to be more careful

They use moving I/O in unmarked cars also. It seems they got some new stuff over the last couple of years. I notice that when they turn the radar to constant-on mode it seems to emit a fainter signal, typically only giving you an 1/8 mile notice. It can be tricky. Having a rabbit or two is a must.
Its mainly instant on K band, or Ka band used by OPP.
why did they have to go there with I/O
its not like we all pack RDs
isad =(

In the mornings on the 401 east bound there are often 2 police cars nabbing people before the sun is fully up.
The first is hiding on the side of the road near the meadowvale sign off to the side in a dark crown vic doing laser out of the drivers window. The other car is in the same area which is a black Impala, dark tinted windows, hub caps, hidden strobes/flashers.
In the last year and a half i have noticed alot more io aswell. I have really slowed it down since that 50 over street racing law came out but still many puckering moments with close calls.
What are the main types of radar and laser used in and around the toronto area.
I drive up the 404 to work from the 401 and sometimes see the cops on the left side where there is a crossover.
