    Default Tick Off

The last thing I am trying to do Roy is tick you off,
No, you are not ticking me off, just some of these idiots who screw customers on E-Bay, selling Gray Market as new tick me off. They make it bad for you and me. Get calls everyday from folks asking why my price it so high when compared to someone selling a product below MY wholesale price.

My cast to this thread's poll was for ignorant. And I include myself in this same catagory as I also purchased a "New X50" off eBay. There was no serial number at all on the bottom of the X50 when I received it, or on the outside of the sealed OEM Escort box that it came in. !

What I have to wonder about is the latest eBay scammers that claim they offer a full warranty exchange within the next 3 years if there are any problems ! Oh yea right, like they are going to be around 3 years from now.

The bigger concern is why has the X50 product become so commonplace on the gray market ? This has to be a reflection on Escort !

I bought my Bel 985 off Ebay 3 years ago. It was in the original unopened box with everything inside and in perfect condition.

Yes I agree. Why is it that I can crack the case of my X50 and it has Bell and and Escort all over the inside, with individual components dated 2005, as well as Escort's own QA stickers dated 2005, yet other people on this forun say Escort will not honor the one year warranty unless it is properly registered ? Something is out of control. I love the product, but Escort needs to get a handle on their manufacturing and distribution process. (or perhaps there is something else afoot here)

    Default E-Bay

Well what many companies do, is sell their returns/seconds/non working units to remanufactures who then are required to sell them outside the US/Canada markets.

What happens next, is when these units are sold outside the USA, someone gets hold of them and brings them back into the US.

One of the largest remanufacturing plants in the USA is in Florida. I had someone call me a year ago offering to sell me all kinds of detectors by the truck load on pennies on the dollar. I took the information and reported it to the manufactures.
