    Default Blinder Question

    Hello

I'm new to Laser Jammers, but I've read up on the basics. Are the current Blinder product diffusers made with LED's or Laser Diodes? I'm trying to decide if I should purchase a Blinder or Laser Interceptor unit? I have a 1996 Toyota Camry and it's beige in color. What Blinder unit will have the BEST JTG performance in my vehicle? I want to have decent rear coverage also ! ! I don't run into much Laser in Kentucky but I drive up to Cleveland Ohio alot and I-75 and I-71 is LIDAR ALLEY in Ohio. I have NEVER SEEN SO MANY LIDAR units in use in my life. My Escort X50 only picks up about 10 percent of the actual signals when I see the cop pointing the gun directly at me.
Do the Blinder products have a switch that turns the unit off once you have had the time to slow down? Does an option like this protect you from getting pulled over and inspected for the possesion of a Laser Jammer??

    Thanks Todd

    All Blinder products use LEDs.

The latest version, the M27/M47, has excellent JTG performance.

All Blinders have an on/off switch you can mount in a convenient spot. As long as you kill the jammer after slowing down you should be fine. The M27/47 have a "parking mode" setting where they turn into parking sensors if you get pulled over.

As you discovered, a dash-mounted detector doesn't detect laser reliably.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

According to the RadarBusters website, laser jammers are only illegal in Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC. If this information is up to date, then you're ok while driving in Kentucky and Ohio. I you're hit by laser, you still should shut your jammer off when you get down to a safe speed, no need to bring attention to the fact that your using a jammer (or that jammers are effective and in use by the public).

when you order a blinder it actually comes in timed jamming mode, that is, it will jam for 7 seconds and stop jamming and recycle for 1 minute. These settings can easily be changed by downloading the software from the blinder website Blinder Laser Jammer Official Homepage and changing them to what you want.

A Blinder M47 would protect you car very well. I would see no problem with you getting JTG performance regardless of what ANYONE on this forum says...You could do 2 heads front and 2 heads rear.
I have this set-up on my Grand Prix and get excellent performance.

Add Tennessee to that list. I know it is my home state and you live close enough that it could affect you. GOL has the most up to date list of states where jammers are illegal.

Blinder-Guy, is this specific to the type of vehicle and color, as far as which or what model to use?

The type of car and the color are a big deciding factor. I have seen the same car you have with a M47 and it did very well. You only need M27 to protect the front but if you want rear protection also a M47 would work. 2 heads front and 2 heads rear.
I saw the Polk County Sheriff setting a speed trap yesterday and the where shooting rear from a overpass with chase cars on the on ramp..First time I have seen that used in my area.

Although I am a firm believer in that no-one can guaranty JT(F)G performance without direct, first-hand testing on the specific vehicle, with its specific setup - I do think that either the M47 or dual-head LI will protect you more than well enough, in terms of the demands of real-world encounters, even in Ohio, which tends to see closer-range engagements.

I think that both would work equally well.
