    Default School zone speed limiters?

I was watching the Canadian GP on Tivo last night and was thinking it would sure be nice to have a speed limiter button for school zones like race cars have for the pit lanes.

Eh...that sets a DANGEROUS precedent. As soon as you allow a speed limiter in your car for one place, there will be RFID tags in all speed signs and you'll never be able to go over the limit ANYWHERE.

The problem with a speed limiter on the real world is that it means you don't have the added safety of being able to go faster. It's like blocking the steering wheel from rotating more than a few degrees -> normally it won't make a difference but when you need it you need it

Yesterday, i would have opposed this vehemently. Today, having seen how kpatz, JDS, and other complete retards have openly stated that they don't give a **** if they run over a child or not, and who are actually stupid enough to expect an elementary school kid to be able to judge the speed at which a car approaches before stepping into the street, I think I'd support it.

The number of complete idiots behind the wheel with no judgement and no respect for anyone but themselves is staggering.

I used to always think that would happen, but then there would be no speeders to make money on! What would the police do all day?

I think it's time for both of these "school zone" threads to stop. It's degenerated into personal insults and attacks, which I (and I'm sure most others on here) have little tolerance for.

I never said I don't give a *beep* about running over a child. I am always very cautious when driving with pedestrians around (regardless of age), that includes when I'm NOT in a school zone.

This is my last word on the topic, and I'm going to request both these threads be locked.

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?
