Default 08 Cobalt Wrecked - Total or reoair? You decide!

Everyone loves to look at a wreck. We can't help it, it's our nature!

With that in mind, I am posting the pictures of my recently wrecked Cobalt. I was not ticketed in this (or any other) pileup, and was driving under the PSL in the rain. I have already removed all of my CMs except for the Blinders. I did at least take the CPU, which has the coveted 2.10 software on it.

To test the knowledge of the gearheads on this forum against the judgement of the adjuster(s). Knowing that this car is valued at $8500, do you think it will be repaired or totaled?

Unfortunately, I am a pedestrian for the time being

Here are the pictures I took in the tow yard today.

Looks like the shock tower on the passenger's side is fubared, probably totaled but would depend on the insurance agency.

I'm thinking they'll save it. The most expensive parts will be that drivers side damage to quarter panel / door. The rest "looks" like full out panels will be replaced. I can't tell from the pic but front end might have frame damage judging by picture # 5. If so, I'd say totaled.

Dare I ask - "What happened?"

edit: you shouldve added a ding or 2 to ensure its totaled lol. Subscribed to see what insurance says.

It starts, but isn't drivable. One of the tires comes in contact with the wheel well. It was a major chore to pull off to the shoulder so that I wouldn't get hit anymore. Dunno about leaks, I haven't checked that.

I'm going to try to stop by and recover the front jammer heads and mounting bracket soon. I will check for leaks then.

Speaking of jammer heads, the rear passenger one went missing when I was rear ended. I'm probably not going to try to recover the one that remains. I don't think I could trust it after taking a hit like that.

I would say that it is totaled. That looks like a hell of a lot of damage, certainly more than $6,375. Sorry this happened man. Just hope your accident streak is over. I sure hope mine is. Lol
