Default Mostly Stock” Ford F-250 Runs 182 MPH at Bonneville

I wonder what kind of gas mileage it would get driving through the Rainforest?

Mostly stock my @ss. Upgraded hp fp, bigger turbo, revised compression ratio....... They gave it a new engine. Parts and labor are likely to be in the tens of thousands of dollars. How is the truck mostly stock?

Not mostly stock, but the Super Duties are very fast for their size; really, any diesel is quick for its size, though. I've seen many stock diesel trucks spank supposedly "fast" cars and trucks.

Yes indeed. Those trucks will embarrass just about anything on the road. They well pull your house with negative equity right off the foundation.

Yeah they are pretty quick. I had one try to take off on me a few years back. He must have not known that Evos are pretty quick too....

Heavily-optioned trucks, such as the Ford F450 King Ranch, carry sticker prices well into the $70k range when fully equipped and are more luxurious than many European sedans, while certainly offering more utility. But are they faster than those European sedans?

    Some of them are, yes[...]
But European sedans are designed for those speeds on public roadways and don't need parachutes to stop.

    X2!

    LOL.

When I think... "Mostly stock" I'm thinking a different air-intake/filter. A programmable chip for a more aggressive stance of the stock engine, and maybe an exhaust and better spark plugs/wires; not turbo swaps and such!

    Impressive none-the-less though.

The 2011 Ford F-250 is mostly stock, with changes to the high-pressure fuel pump, fuel injectors and turbochargers for more fuel flow.
Well in a sense the "engine" was stock. The fuel pump, fuel injectors and turbochargers are all outside of the engine.

Evos are quick I must admit. I would be surprised if you got him in the quarter mile.
