    Default Cobra new series: XRS-9x30

Well, I see that there is a detection on Ku band, too.

I wonder if there is a real new line or they just did something at the plastic surgery?

Same with Radio shack. The guy told me the new model cobra that has KU band picks up radar from 5-7 miles. I was like yeah.. NOT.

I got it and had some trials. It has less false alerts on K band at automatic doors than others (BEL, V1) but has extremely high number of falses on Ka/Ku bands without any visible reasons. I did a trial run with POP/Spectre/VG2 on (just for fun because here isn't any of them) and there were even more unnecessary alerts. The best function is IntelliMute which avoid your ears from a lot of needless alerts.

    Live warning distances were:
    Multanova (Ka band) photo radar from front: 74m (243ft); 187m (613ft); 201m (659ft); 206m (676ft).
    Multanova from behind: 0m; 0m; 29m (95ft).
    Traffipax Speedophot (K band) from front: 0m; 26m (85ft); 34m (112ft).

It seems to me that Cobra was invest his money in design&extras instead of function. :?

For some people IMO, style is more important than function and performance. As long as there is a market for scanning dots and frequency displays there will always be those manufacturers that cater to that market, - dont forget the pretty lights too.
