As I thought you were aware, I have been away for the past two weeks - first at CES (in Vegas) and then in conducting an extensive real-world driving review of the latest and greatest detectors:

The Bel RX65 Pro
The Escort 8500 X50
The Valentine One v1.8 /w POP2
The Valentine One v1.7

Just got back this evening and need to crash (figuratively). We ended up putting about 1500 miles on our vehicle and racked up a number of speed trap encounters and did not get nabbed once with any of them!

I am in the process of preparing a report based-upon the raw data and will be posting the results shortly.

I replied to your query personally (off-line).

Seems I missed the REAL SHOOTING MATCH!

I am compiling all the data today and will try to have something new to read about all these great detectors ASAP while the events of the trip are still fresh in our minds!

Mind you...given the biases (which I probably had myself going into this test, myself - or perhaps better described as our own histories) that exist, I sincerely hope this article will place the performance of all these detectors in their proper context.

BTW, I have brought with me four Colt 45s (2 V1s, Rx65, x50) :twisted:
