Guy at my local electronics shop

Guys in electronics shops don't tend to like to be shot down! I went into a local store called redmonds auto accessories /truck accessorices today because i got on the blinder web page to see if I had an authorized dealer close in my proximity so i wouldn't have to wait for shipping I could just pick them up my self. Well i go into this store and all they have is the escort zr3 shifter active laser jammer which i personally know dosn't jam the laser atlanta in stealth mode. Therefore i didn't want it! The guy tryed to sell to me anyway telling me it was the best thing on the market which i know he is full of crap. And then i mentioned not in testing! And he said that the test's he's seen say that its better. So then i proceeded to make a complete ass out of him and explain how the laser atlanta works in stealth mode and why it wouldn't pick it up nor jam it and that in recent testing that jammer failed that test and that if he thinks its going to save him hes going to get nailed! By that time there where three different asscoiates behind the counter listening to my knowledge on the subject and going cool i learned something new today. And i smashed that not by speed measurement labs is the best or even close to the blinder xtreme m-40 series. After that he shut up and looked like kid you know way to much about all this and then i left laughing my a*s off because i knew more about it than the sales asscoiate. And when i came in the guy told me you need a escort x50 or 8500 to hook that zr3 shifter into like i didn't know like i was stupid on the subject if i was that stupid why would be purchusing that item?? retart!! Basicly he acted like since i was a kid i couldn't afford a x-50 so i got to rub it in his dam$ face that i had one thank you very much! And that the zr3 shifter isn't good enough for me... later lol just wanted to vent cause of the stupidity of this sales asscoiate... trying to sell me second hand crap thats why we need the guys of lidar so we can finally be the ones to say no that don't work don't give me that !! I want what works you know???

I ran into the same type of thing in best buy hes like theres nothing better then this cobra...Im like wow! really playing dumb i let him talk on and on about the sweet stuff it does and then I went well Ill take escort and he goes ya those work pretty good i guess but i love my cobra..im like ok buddy you keep loving your cobra and ill keep loving using use as a rabbit for instant on and pop (to myself ofcourse)...have a nice day

Ya i know what you mean its like they don't think that we can figure it out for ourselves they think we as customers are stupid or something?? It only takes being duked once for a customer to get unhappy and then start doing his or her own studies you know? So i don't know why they think we as the public are that dumb? Maybe it is because some of us in the public are and they need to be educated before they stumble upon this kind of threat! lol threat dang straight its a threat like rocky mountain radar bogous crap radar jammer my as@ ive tested it with my own bushnell k band gun that has dsp and it still detected that cars speed just fine? There are a bunch of crooked guys out there its crazy how many of them there are!!

Its funny when manufacturers pay sales reps to push a product. I had already decided to buy the X50 but just for kicks I asked about what they knew about V1's at the Tweeter's where I went to buy the x50 and the rep says something completely unrelated to anything Valentine, something about ZR3 shifters and how there are laws about how you can only shift laser and cant jam radar. I was just like wtf, I wanted very bad to call him out like alpinestars did to the guy at his local shop, but I could tell he was just spitting out sales lines about the escort products he sold so I just let it slide. Glad I did my homework before I headed to the store.

Yeah, something similar happened to me awhile back before I had my X50. I was at Circuit City and they sell Bel products. Well, I was just asking information about them and asking him his opinion on it. Well, I mention that I may get an X50 and he's like "No, the RX65 is much better. I have the X50 already but I think the RX65 is much better." It's too bad I already checked this forum and all the other sites for information. I guess I was the smart one. I'm not putting down the RX65, but from what I've read, they're not worth the extra $30 or whatever it is. And sure they have Ku band and voice activation, but I've already memorized the different bands and don't need some computer voice to tell me which band it's detecting. I find that almost all salesmen are this way, whether it is a car salesmen or an electronic salesmen in Circuit City. They think that the consumer doesn't know anything (which most probably don't) and half of the car salesmen I have met when my dad test drives cars are clueless. They are all in for just the money. :roll:

Why would you expect a retail salesperson to know more than you? Anyone ever go to Best Buy and ask a question that doesn't have the answer printed on the product packaging? It's entertaining, if nothing else!

I personally find it entertaining myself sometimes when you go into bestbuy or circuit city and you know more than the rep would ever know about the car electronics area its almost irritating though cause its like hey why don't you hire me?? I know like 10 times as much as this dushbag!! lol i know exactly how you feel there.

i think of it like the ESPN show Stump the Schawb...sometimes when I go into bestbuy or circuit city i try to corner them and get them to say idk....lol
