Laser Falses?

From what I have read on the forum, a laser false seems quite odd. I receive a laser signal driving past an airport (Major Cleveland airport). I have never encountered this before, and got the detector in beginning of July. Does the situation of driving past the airport cause a laser signal sound plausible? I have yet to ever see police, it happened twice on an interstate.

This is true, I had a laser false near DIA last month. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Ayup, it can happen around airports.

But......

I don't get anything from my Rev5, though, when I'm around Cleveland International. :?: My ZR3 and LPPs stay silent, too.

Which airport are you having the falsing troubles with? What Revision of the x50 is your detector?

I've read that an Airports wind shear equipment can
set off laser.

This doesn't happen at ever Airport but I have heard of
it happening around Major ones as wall as Military Bases.

I've gotten laser falses at several locations around DFW International, especially on the East and North sides.

I have Rev 6.1. The airport is Cleveland Hopkins International. I get the laser alerts westbound right past the 71 bridge and eastbound after I pass Greighton Rd./Brookpark Exit before the 71 bridge. Beats me. Doesn't happen down by Akron/Canton or Burke Lakefront.

^ I don't often get out that way, in the specific manner that you travel, but the next time I do, I'll be *sure* to give that scenario a try.

There is a wind shear detection system that uses LIDAR installed at some airports in the US. (not sure about else where). It shines the LIDAR against airborne particles to measure the wind.

When I searched on this in the past, I never found a comprehensive list of all of the locations, or I would have posted it here.
