Default Escorts 9500i ramp up response

Not much of a response really:

It's good to hear from you. It sounds like the 9500i is performing as designed, so I do not expect this will be something addressed in future updates.
Thanks for your interest in Escort!

I am very disappointed. I just drove an hour to New York to purchase a newly manufactured 9500i (2907), thinking the audio ramp up had been fixed. I tested it 4 times on a speedsign near my house. The audio goes from a beep, up to full alert with no ramp up in between. I am disappointed because I thought this had been fixed. Do you have more current models that it is fixed on?

It's sad to say that you get a response like that from escort. I don't know if they really listen to customer's complaint.

That is totally unacceptable IMHO & exactly why I sent a 9500i back for a refund.

I use a V1 that I love, but am by no means a "V1 zombie". I bought my son an 8500 X50 last week & if the 9500i we tested had worked correctly that is what he would be using right now.

If they ever get the 9500i to work correctly like the 8500 X50 does, I would buy another one immediately.

I also have a V1 that I love, however the only ramp up I have experienced so far is that speed sign. I havent encountered any LEO's, so I cant say if the ramp up is any different there.

If they would at least acknowledge it, that would be nice. I still like the detector, but I hate the fact they are denying any issues with it.

In my experience, the ramp up is no better at all when encountering a real threat. We had one time where an LEO was shooting always on Ka & the maximum alert actually occurred when we where right next to him if not actually slightly beyond him with almost no advance warning whatever (it gave two very brief beeps).

I LOVE the features of the 9500i & would definitely buy another one if they ever get the bugs worked out. The fact that the company refuses to admit that the problems even exist is extremely discouraging however..........IMHO the RD is fatally flawed in its current form.

I wish I could post a huge neon sign that Ramp Up Suckson the 9500I so people would stop complaining about it, it works, just not how evryone wants it too.
No one would complain if they didn’t have a perception of what it should be like... The idea is to slow down on the 1st beep or two (especially on this detector). Escort put in a slow 4-5 beep delay in the beginning of the audible notification so it doesn’t drive you crazy (Keeping the theme of being quiet). Also auto mute kicks in at that point if you turn it on.

The 9500I is not flawed, we all know everyone who has owned a good ramp up RD hates the ramp up on the 9500I, and maybe Escort will fix and maybe not. In the end the 9500I does its job just slow down on the 1st beep... Please...

If there is a (real) fix I will let everyone know... Until then slow down on the 1st beep or two, mute it, than go about your drive.

I think people need to keep complaining loudly whenever possible in regards to this problem, maybe at some point the company will actually pay attention & do something about it.

It's not like they don't know how to do it, my sons new 8500 X50 ramps up perfectly which gives a clear indication of how far away the threat actually is -there is no reason whatever that the 9500i could not do the same thing.

There is a big difference between being quiet & giving so little warning that you could actually miss the warning entirely...........

I guess we are all just use to normal RD's, with a nice steady ramp up. Maybe Escort is trying to change the game, with one beep to full blast? Lets hope that isnt a new trend!

I personally love everything about the 9500I, even what people perceive as flaws because I see it as a misunderstood design feature. Remember how everyone hated the TrueLock.

We need to keep E-Mailing Escort so hopefully they will do something.

I guess my only concern is that Roy did say he had a "test" unit, that had improved ramp up. We all want the latest and greatest firmware!
