10% increase in range

I re-leveled my 9500I the other day and apparently it was off by just a bit (didn’t look like it at all) I did this because of the configuration of the Horn, and to mount it stealthier. To my surprise I am getting almost a 10% increase in K band detection and KA.

It sounds silly but it's the truth. Having it off just a little bit on the horizontal or vertical plane can decrease performance. I bought a little keychain level at lowes that I use.

I have seen this with the V1 and RX65 also. My wife always gets the level wrong and wonders why the K band range is bad compared to when i mount them.
Just one notch on the RX65 mount makes a big difference on performance.
The V1 don't have this problem as bad because the notches are much smaller. So one notch off from level only hurts a little.

Make sure the car is parked on a level surface when you mount it too. Driveways are usually slanted to allow runoff.

Very good point! I realized the other day (actually months ago) my driveway has a 10 degree slant to one side and so did my RD.

how would you make sure it's level? i just re-adjusted mine for the 3rd time, the little tips now seem to be flush with the windshield, but it bounces a bit more than it did with it off lvl, so one was touching, and the other had to swing the rd just a bit

Ya, its a real pain to get perfection. If it sits level its not perfectly strait and if its perfectly strait it can shake. It must of took me 100 times to get it just right.

I made a special mounting bracket for mine.
