    Default 9500i blue ramp-up - finally purchased!

I just ordered two 9500i blues from Escort, after having a 9500i red from Best Buy for a week. I'll be returning that (within the 14 days) on Monday or Tuesday when the new ones arrive. Yes, I know about their return policy, and I already have a plan in place, so don't worry.

However, the 9500i red with a 3607 date code didn't have the ramp-up fix(which is in accordance with what I've read here). It occurred to me that I had been assuming all the 9500i blues would have it from the factory. Has this been found to be true? I really kinda overpaid for these suckers, being in OH, but I ended up not having much option due to some personal circumstances (cough, wife, cough).

That said, I've enjoyed the 9500i red I've been driving around with immensely. The cord is kind of a pain in the minivan, but there's no simple direct wire smart cord solution just yet, and I have it mounted too high for the mute button to be easily accessible, which rules out a plain direct wire. My only concern with the blues is the ramp-up - I'm sure it's fixed, but wanting to be reassured!

FYI, for those of you who remember my vacillating before, I've decided to postpone an LI purchase until spring - see how some other Clevelanders' LI systems survive the winter!

I haven’t gotten any answers from 9500I blue owners if there ramp up is good or not. You may be the 1st to communicate how it is.

4007,s and above would make sense to have the fix.

    And congratulations on the 9500I's.

An update: I spoke with Escort's customer service today (they called me, since I placed 2 separate orders, they wanted to be sure it wasn't a duplicate).

The guy put me on hold and talked to someone else - then he said that whoever the other person was had told him that all the 9500i blues were coming from the factory with the ramp-up fix. I'm going to hazard a guess that if they didn't, we'd have heard about it by now - but mine should be here perhaps on Monday, since they're coming priority and only from Cincy.

I see you didn't take long on this one, bro.

I really kinda overpaid for these suckers, being in OH, but I ended up not having much option due to some personal circumstances (cough, wife, cough).
You'll have no comment from me on this one. I'm a married man, myself, and I, er...feel your pain?

Let's get together on this , my good neighbor. I may or may not be able to give you some ideas, but maybe we could bounce ideas off each other, which I often find to be helpful.

Maybe we'll get lucky on a solution.

Hey, I resemble this remark! :P

I'll also continue to keep you updated on the other car-enthusiasts in the local area who have their LIs installed on daily-drivers. We'll see how this turns out.

TSi: Yeah, we seriously need to get together sometime. I'm really interested in seeing your setup, and picking your brain on placement of the 9500i cord - that dang thing gets in the way of my hand going to the shift lever JUST a tad out at the end, the way it is!

Appreciate your info on the LI stuff - I really do want one, but just can't justify (read: wife won't ok, lol) getting one until spring because of the weather. She's from North Carolina, and this is her first winter up here... so it's a, uh, adjustment, to put it mildly!

In short, yes. For details, see:

Also remember that the 9500i blue is IDENTICAL to the 9500i red except that a) all blues *should* have the ramp-up fix, and b) the blue has a blue display. There are NO adjustments to the internals, etc. at all!

Yeah, I've heard 4007 being used as a benchmark on the 9500i reds.

I've got two blues coming that should have it, so it's kind of moot for me now.
