Default escort 9500i ramp up question

so i just got a 9500i open box item from bestbuy and it's 4307, but i got it for 300bucks instead of 450, so i'm not wanting to return it really :P

i talked with escort support and the tech guy said 4407 and up has the fix, but i thought i read here 4007 and up has it, any ideas for me? i haven't seen any cops or street signs posted up lately so haven't been able to test

just drove by the bestbuy, and the door alarms, started at 1 went to 2, then to 3, then full blast, kinda thinking i don't have the update

still no cops though, so if anyone else wants to chime in there opinion it'd help

its 4007 or higher, and yes your fine. The 9500I alerts according to the threat and door alarms can go 2-3-8-9 if your passing across them closely.

Wierd how that works. Without a RD, most of us look to avoid all police encounters at all costs. But once you get a good RD, you go "hunting for radar". I'd make fun of you, but I do this all the time.

Haha yeah, i actually had a v1, but the thing is wicked chatty, sick of hitting mute all day, it worked well but

so i found quite a few but no good spots to really test range, all around turns in a city, one with a cop sitting -| like that to the road(up and down is the road), so barely getting any signal, so i dunno, i was just happy to see the KA worked as it was a open box

was hoping to find a stationary cop actually radaring the road, but only found that one idiot just sitting, the rest were all moving towards me

OH and it 'appears' i do have the ramp up, as there is a def mid range to the alarms, that cop sitting stupidly was in front of me for a few min and i was getting about 50-80% signal

that means i do have the ramp up right?

Sounds like you are good. Its racction/alert to the radar not the range. I did a small write-up on the new ramp up, page 3 of my thread below.

Yeah but it just seems like the range isn't as good as the v1, but it wasn't exactly good conditions, but the KA seemed kinda short when the few chances did pop up

    Default IO

I don't have any range problems, I think all too often the dam thing alerts me way sooner than I need to be alerted. You don't need 20 minutes of advance notice to slow down, unless you took the short bus when you went to school.

When I very first got my 9500i I thought I too had this ramp up problem everyone was talking about. I'd see the cop, no alerts, then the thing would just go 1 ping then full blast then nothing in a matter of no time at all.

I quickly learned though after using it a while that what I was seeing wasn't a "ramp up" problem but IO Ka band radar hitting me. Now that I've had hundreds of CO Ka alerts I see there is no problem at all with how it progresses on the alert. If your already use to how a different detector was reporting to you it may seem off at first I suppose, but once you get use to it and know what to expect from it there's no problems at all.

No more false alerts though from now on out, you're so going to love that, you'll never be able to go back to anything else after you spend just a week of that lockout feature spoiling you.

Yeah did it once or twice with X band already with the lockout, the 1 k band is in a bad spot to lockout so i didn't

i just got a opened box 9500i so kinda worried it might be messed up :P

but at 300bucks how could i say no, selling my old v1 for 250 by itself

so a bit longer and hopefully it'll work

no real long roads here, i went on the highway for like 30min today but no such luck for me to have cops sitting, and like i said all my encounters were moving cops or the one idiot cop that parked like a moron and was probably bored
