9500ci Laser Jamming Test Summary

Well, RacerX and I shot laser guns at my 9500ci this morning with 4 different laser guns. RacerX did 95% of the shooting. First off, I like to thank RacerX for taking time to do this for me. Totally cool! He brought the guns, he came to where I was at, he spent several hours shooting away and all I gave him for his effort was a free sandwich! What a loser I am!

Anyhow, here are the basics, and RacerX, please correct me if I make any mistakes here:

1. Stalker - Completely smoked my ZR4s. It was almost like not having a jammer at all. If you live in an area where the Stalker is used, this jammer is not for you, IMO. Luckily, I have never seen one here in Cali. I plan to remove the current Veil and install the G4, if it ever hits the market that is. Maybe that will help some.

2. Marksman - The ZR4s did pretty well against this gun. At first there was nothing past about 300ft, but later on in the day, RacerX started to figure out the weakest spots in my setup, which apparently are right between the foglights(my coat of Veil there is barely noticable), at the very upper corner of my headlights and at the very bottom center of my front plate. It would have to be a pretty close-in shot for me to not have any time to slow down.

3. PLII - The ZR4s did excellent against this gun. I don't think that there were any PTs above 200ft and maybe not even 100ft.

4. PLIII - Basically the same as the PLII, but slightly better.

My rear coverage is similar to that of my front, but weak out at the edge of my tail lights. My rear shifter is pointed down at least 10 degrees. That will be fixed early this week. Both I and Racer X believe that this should give me decent coverage for the rear of the car once it is level.

:top: good stuff man. I hope G4 can help out those Stalker numbers, but like you I don't think it's in KY.

One other thing I have figured out about the 9500ci is that it doesn't give a full laser alert while under about 20mph. Basically, it looks like Belscort figures that no LEO is going to tag a stopped car. The display still looks the same, "F Laser Shifting" or whatever but the alert is like, "bleep bleep" instead of the normal full laser alert.

Although we didn't test the LA specifically, RacerX seemed to think that the ZR4s would do very well against the LA, since it is very similar to the PLII.

Man looks like cheetah pass or LI is the only option for stalkers, man thats a rough gun, why is that thing so hard to beat anyways?

That lack of laser alert under 20 MPH may be a blessing if you get laser falses when stopped in traffic or in bumper to bumper traffic with other HID and ACC equipped cars.

If I remember correctly, there's now multiple tests where the Stalker had higher PT numbers against the ZR4.(except for RR's test) Bummer. Maybe a software update could be developed and released to fix this, assuming it's not related to the Stalker's higher output?

The only thing I can say to counter that point is that my batch of VEIL from 2005 absolutely waxed the Stalker. I hoping that the new G4 will do the same thing and offer led based jammer users relief.

i think those numbers pretty much cover it. the PL2 was probably around 150' or so average. it's a Kmh gun, so i did quick conversions.
as for the LA, besides the PL2 being the same pulse rate, on other tests, The ZR4 has done very well against the LA, including stealth mode.

we figured out a few weak spots, which i think can be taken care of. yeah it had some trouble with the Stalker, but overall he has a great setup and a sweet ride.

we didn't have time to play with the front heads at all, but it may possible to fine tune it and get better performance against the Stalker, at least time to slow if not better.

for the rear head being so "off level" it did very well.

some of the readings i think will be gone once that rear head is adjusted.

As for the new G4, i'm looking forward to it. the aesthetics alone are a huge bonus.
I think performance will be even better as well. i look forward to testing it on my bike and my truck, with before and after runs, with the old stuff, nothing, and new stuff.
