    Default Performed an AutoTruelock Test

On Thurday night, I intentionally went through the parking lot of a locked out false alert at a local pharmacy, that had their door openers turned off, since it was past closing time. The next morning, I went past this location and the false alert was still locked out.

I did this again Friday night, only this time I went past this location at least 4-5 times, while out looking for some 35.5Ka. I again went past the location Saturday morning, and again, the false alert is still locked out.

I'm not sure what it takes to automatically unlock a locked out false alert that is no longer present, but it's definitely not one pass without the false alert present, that's for sure.

Thank God (or the Escort engineer, whoever he is) for that! This has been a question which has been lurking in the back of my head. Obviously there may be date stamp or incrementing non-detection stamp stored along with each lockout data entry and at some point the locked out location will get cleared. Keep testing! I would love to know how many passes or days it takes before the locked out location is cleared.

Or.. if it does.. you know this is still Escort we are dealing with and sometimes their features and descriptions... well... don't always work as advertised.

DJ, what about this how fast were you going? I wonder if that has anything to do with it, like on Auto setting it will not alert like driving under (I forgot which speed) but the detector will not alert.

I drove by the pharmacy and through the pharmacy's parking lot. I wasn't really checking my speeds, but they were normal speeds.

Normal speeds I think would be under the threshold of the auto mode so it will not alert or do anything, even if you didn't have it auto locked out.

The pharmacy is on the right side of the street at about 3:40 of the second video here. Although, the 9500ci obviously would not have alerted with Ka blasting, you can see I normally pass within 40ft of the pharmacy door at 40mph or so, with no alert. Auto mode should not be a factor.

I think that 9500ci GPS is direction sensitive(unlike 9500i) ,otherwise RLC would not work well,so maybe AutoLearn is also "time dependant".That would explain why false alert source was not un-locked after 5 passes in one evening.Question is,how big must be time intervals(between drive-by's) for AutoLearn to un-lock a false alert source?
When 9500CI's GPS downloads almanac/ephemeris data from satellites ,it also gets time/clock of each satellite in view,so 9500CI's GPS "knows" time...anyways,I'm just thinking out loud...

From what I have noticed, there does appear to be a directional variable in AutoLearn's logic.

I cleared my 9500ix's lock outs before leaving work Friday afternoon. I figured hey, I won't even bother to manually mark out anything and simply let AutoLearn do that for me. Clean slate time.

Anyhow, so I was driving back and forth this weekend and there are 3 separate false alerts at exits 39, 41, and 49. The first one has a single X-band, the next has 2 simultaneous X-band alerts and the last one has a very long-ranged X-band alert.

Now, my route has not changed between times driving there and back, I drive straight through them the same way each time (give or take 10 mph). It learned the exit 41 one (dual X) but not the 39. The 49 it did not receive (not sure why it is not there sometimes, is 90% of the time in the same location). I am not sure why it didn't learn one of them when it was the nearly same conditions.

So what I can judge is that it does appear to have some kind of logic behind it to validate one instance as being 'ok to lock out' and another similar incident as 'not ok just yet.' It does reassure me about AutoLearn though, it doesn't seem as "unintelligent" as 'ok three times, got it sir-e-bob!'
