    Default 9500i bad update?

I was wondering if anyone else that used Escorts tool to update there 9500i where having a problem? I updated mine thee other day and now it doesn't seem to have the range or sensitivity it had before...Every radar encounter I have had since update has been short detection range on K and Ka coming toward and forward facing. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I haven't noticed any difference, performance-wise, from my 4307 manufacture-date unit, since the update.

    Question:

Can one manually reset the 9500i, as one can the x50?

If so, maybe you should try a hard reset, on yours, mhardy.....

Try that first: hold down the “SEN” and “BRT” buttons while you turn PASSPORT on.
    May just be coincidence.

I think I am experiencing exactly the same thing you described. Both K and Ka band range is way down. I thought I may be imagining things, but now you're describing the same thing I experienced. I'll myself try the hard reset. Mine is dated 1107. Keep us updated....we might be on to something.

From yesterday's roving C/O K and stationary I/O Ka experience (I've now switched back to ExpertMeter), I still have not noticed either a decrease nor increase in receptive capabilities.

For both situations, I'd say that everything was still the same as my 4307 build-date was, from the beginning.

One thing, though, is perhaps a slightly better ramp-up in the roving C/O K (end-on) presentation, but due to the variability of terrain in that particular sector of my commute, it's hard to tell if it wasn't just more favorable presentation, in-lieu of an actual improvement in ramping.

I had a very short K detection today, it was 200ft from him when my RD went off. However I haven't used my USB on my 9500I ever. So in my case, as I think yours, its coincidence.
I got about 1/2mi detection after passing the LEO just before I turned off.

I updated my 9500i nearly two weeks ago, but I haven't really played with it since I have been having fun using my reflashed STi. Later today I will take my 9500i to several of my favorite door opener locations around town and test it. In particular I will take it to the single Lowes K band door opener location which I used in some of my videos. If my 9500i doesn't barely alert at this particular test location (a really long distance from the door opener), then I will know that there is a problem.

I did a hard reset. I have not had any true leo encounters yet but I noticed places I used to get long kband door alerts are reduced now...I'll check my production date shortly and post back.

Ok I did a hard reset last night before going into work. I didn't encounter any LEO last night. This morning coming back, there was a LEO on the opposite traffic and 9500i was dead quiet. This particular spot, they always use a I/O (Ka band) and I didn't pick up jack squat this morning. I can easily see the LEO for atleast for a mile sitting on the shoulder. I'll test it out more before talking to escort about it. TSi+WRX, I am anxiously waiting on your findings with your 9500i.
