Red face Waiting for my 9500i > iX to return!

I bit the bullet and sent my 9500i in to get it upgraded to the 9500iX. I sent it Monday the 8th by overnight. They have had it 4 working days now and when I called this AM, they said it is 'in process' but not shipped by them back to me yet.

I am wondering, since it will return with the red display it went in with, will the little directional arrow shown at left of the blue display in a 9500iX be displayed on my upgraded unit? I sure hope so as they said it will have every feature of the 9500iX.

I am hoping I get it back soon- I feel so exposed without it. I also ordered a hardwire kit and hope to wire it to the overhead console in my BMW X5 where the garage door opener is.

Yes, the little arrow is just part of the normal display. Red or blue display will make no difference.

Default 8 Calendar Days for 9500i>iX Upgrade

I called again today and was told that my upgraded unit had changed to shipping status and I received a UPS Tracking number. That's 7 calendar days for the upgrade, but the tracking number for UPS Ground is still just billing info sent so I suspect they will pick it up tomorrow and that will make it 8 days.

That does seem like a long time, but it is the holidays after all.

Shipped this AM (which just means that's when UPS scanned it) at 1:30AM, says to me in CT from Friday via ground. Cool.

Yeah, that job is brutal this time of year. Plus he's bringing my Bluetooth GPS Key Fob:
Freedom Keychain GPS 2000 - ShopCrackBerry

....for use with my Blackberry and Trapster.com. I'm psyched.

Default Received 9500i > iX Upgraded Unit

It was at Escort one week and then UPS Ground back to me. Came with new cups and what appears to be a new cord. The little arrow points towards marked locations as you approach (like around a turn). I'm very pleased overall. Now I want to get my car repair place to install the hard-wire kit I got from them so it will power off with the ignition *AND* power on when starting.

I had hoped the AutoPWR setting would power it off after being stopped a long time (lighter in BMW X5 stays on constantly)- it does. BUT, I keep getting in and driving away with the detector powered off. I need to hard-wire it as I was just used to leaving detectors on but Escort tells me that's a bad idea due to the self-test routines they do and to voltage drops etc.

So now to hardwire and to get Trapster working on my BlackBerry!

Well, now you have an excuse. Just pretend that it's spontaneous.
