Default IMO 9500CI has already reached end of life with Escort.

Anyone else starting to find it rather odd that Escort has failed to release a meaningful firmware release for the 9500CI in almost 4 months? I heard a few birds chirping a few months back that this was already the case but, I failed to believe them.

I hate to say it but I don't think the ramp-up will ever get fixed, nor do I think we'll see any further improvements to the 9500CI. Which is very disappointing due to the power of being able to update your firmware on the fly, and I know that this forum has come up with some great ideas they could implement with little to no work.

Example: How easy would it have been to combine Spec Mode w/ Expert or Normal Display? Just flash the freq for 3 seconds then go on to the bogey counter.

Overall this leaves me disappointed, and right back to where we always start wishing for the ultimate end all detector.

My recommendation for anyone considering the purchase of a 9500CI. SAVE YOUR MONEY. The ramp up blows, your going to have to pay to get it installed, and at the end of the day it's just a little bit better than the Valentine in the real world for threats that are in-front of you. Anything behind you it's a joke.

Pick up a 9500ix or STi (if you are in VA or Canada), V1, & Laser Interceptor.

If / when I change out automobiles this summer the CI will not be along for the ride. It's going to eventually end up on eBay with all the other Belscort crap I've bought over the years. The one thing I've learned to appreciate with the CI is no detector is bullet proof, and if you want to be covered you need to be running two detectors that don't interfere with one another at all times.

The lack of a rampup fix is inexcuseable!

Just like I said in another thread, it feels to me that belscort just rushes products to market without fully realizing their potential and working out bugs. I bet it's not the engineers fault but the head bosses who put pressure on them to get something new out to make sales.

Wonder if a 9500ci, STi and a V1 would interfere with each other? I haven't read much about the STi.

Other than the ramp up I love my 9500ci. Let me know when you want to get rid of yours maybe we can work out a deal.

The STi and 9500ci won't interfere with each other at all. If you want to run a V1 alongside a STi, mount both fairly high (up close to your RVM) and be sure that the front of the V1 is mounted about 1/2" to 1" forward of the front of the STi, and that the left RD is angled a few degrees to the left and that the right RD is angled a few degrees to the right. This setup works satisfactorily.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I would take it in a heartbeat and install it in my dad's car so that I can use it when I drive my dad's car!

Will the 9500ci and a STi-R interfere with each other?
