    Default Ghost in the Machine

So I'm sitting here at my desk debugging some HUD-One code. My 9500ci is sitting on top of my desk in a small duffel bag.

Just now I got a 5-bar Ka alert! It lasted for about 5 seconds, and gradually ramped down from 5 to 4 to 2 to 1 (I captured it in my debug log - ha ha) and then went away.

There were no vehicles outside on my street, no sign of any LEO, no people walking by who might have had a RADAR gun, nothing. I have never had any Ka falsies in my home office before. I do not have a satellite dish or any other electronic device that emits Ka band frequencies AFAIK.

Were you in spec mode? What was the frequency?

Maybe just a fluke, or a car with a Crapra drove by... or a cop with radar was on a nearby street but not yours...

The HUD-One supports Escorts now? Or just the 9500ci? How much info can you get from the serial port?

What microcontroller are you using? I'm just getting into PIC programming myself. I may even develop my own V1 remote display just for the fun of it.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Active Countermeasures: V1 3.858, Escort Redline, Beltronics STi-R+, LI Dual 7.1x CPU/8.7 Heads (front)
    Other/Backup Countermeasures: V1 3.813 (loaned to friend), Beltronics Pro RX65 M4 6.3
    Vehicle: 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro
LEO Toys: Kustom Pro Laser II & III
    Encounters/Saves August 2011: Radar 3/1, Laser 0/0

Nope, I was working on Expert Mode (since so many people seem to use it) so I didn't have Spec Mode active.

    Just the 9500ci.

Basically anything you might see on the display.

It's an ARM7 variant specifically designed for automotive applications.

It's a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. The worst part is the testing; spending hour after hour driving around in a Corvette is absolutely grueling, but for the good of mankind I force myself to do it.

Somebody just powered on their sat dish receiver which of course powers on their sat dish.
