Default redline vs V1 on i/o

is there a consensus on which one has better i/o detection?

Also, does the redline have better avoidance of 'falses' when in automode compared to V1

For standard instant-on (meaning a short burst normally between 1-3seconds) they will both be virtually equal.

There is what has become known as 'Quick Trigger'... sub 1second (or sub .5second) bursts the V1 wins...

Generally if the V1 is sensitive enough to pick up the radar (aka it has to be able to 'see' the radar)... I think DJRams has a video where his 9500ci -M3- has sniffed out instant-on, because it was more sensitive then the V1, NOT because it has better I/O detection), so keeping that in mind if it can see the radar (the V1) it will alert better (more consistently) then any other RD IMO.

PS: Most of what you have been asking on here seems to be covered if you use the search function... you will get so much (more) information, so much faster then a simple post/thread like this.

Since I own a V1, I hope it's true. But this I/O shot with 33.8 KA Band and a Redline isn't to shabby. I'm even wondering if my V1 could beat it. Pretty impressive. Might mean having to spring for 5 bills. The V1 might win on some I/O shots, but I'm getting the impression the Redline is stronger on C/O from greater distances. I can't believe somebody doesn't have the 3.872 V1 and a Redline to test for all the different bands in a controlled situation yet.

If the LEOs that one faces use Q/T, then the V1 is better. If not, the RedLine is better. My 9500ci, which has the exact same performance as does the RedLine, has performed better overall against I/O than have my V1s in almost two years of me running them together.

It looks to me with the 3.872 Ka guard off and POP on that this is a tremendous RD. GOL tests have confirmed this and Knighthawk test showed that the 3.872 was also better then the 3.813. DJ has said that in Calif. he could not stand the falses with Ka Guard off. With me running the Ka Guard off and POP on, I feel i'm getting the most protection out of this RD. If some of you agree or diasgree, please tell me i'm wrong or right. I have the luxury of living in the country with not very many falses. I would love for GOL to do some tests with the 3.872 and Redline and make sure both RD are fixed where they can get the best possible range out of both of them. With some of you living in bigger cities like DJ, i have know clue what you all are going through. Maybe this is why some of you like the IX. I'm really interested in this Redline. All i want is the MOST RANGE POSSIBLE!

Ka guard off would not be pratical for me, to many false alerts. I do feel the Redline would give you an edge in some encounters over the V1. To me your getting the range of the CI & STi-R in a dash mounted RD which is what I have been waiting for. I dont think the Redline is the "Perfect" RD yet but neither is the V1.

If you live in an area where you do not have many falses the V1 with Ka guard off is great, but if you live in any area that has a decent amount of traffic, which means a decent amount of people driving with cobras then the Ka guard almost has to be on because you will become immune to the falses and not slow down when it is a real threat.

That is why I love my STi-R you can turn off RDR and turn off segments, which gives you great range and less falses. The only way you can make sure you are not going to miss a frequency that is outside of the segments you have on is by running another detector.

Do you think the majority of LEO's using something other than C/O are Q/Ting under .5 seconds or going from .5 to 1 second or higher throughout the COUNTRY, that means ALL 50 states. (I'm sick of hearing about what Texas does and I don't even know if it's accurate to begin with...I highly doubt it. Even if it was accurate, there's still 49 states who all do it differently from them and each other)

I think it's kind of like gambling in a casino...who has the better odds. Well, it's ALWAYS the HOUSE. The best thing we can do is play games that increase our odds or count cards and hope to get away with it to get our percentages of winning closer to 50-50.

The LEO's are the HOUSE and have the odds with them. What game do they like to play the MOST (I/O or Q/T when not using C/O) and what raises our percentages?
My guess is most are using I/O...but it's only a guess. What say everyone?

I really fill like i'm getting excellent range and i don't think i'm missing any alerts. With that said if the Redline can do better then what i'm getting from the V1, then i'm really interested in the Redline.
