It will b here this week! yea waiting is the hard part seems like weeks have went by!
Cant wait to install it!
Either the M47 or the LI dual will be great on that vehicle.
The LI makes for a cleaner install since the heads are a bit smaller and there are only 2 of them. With the Blinder you may get better reception coverage closer to the edges since you have 4 heads covering that frontal area.
Valentine One (3.858 Ice Cream Truck, 3.812 in Vette)
4 Head LI (On Vette) (7.11 CPU Regular heads front, HP Heads on the rear)
9500ci (On Vette)
LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)
LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)
ProLaser II, ProLaser III, Stalker LZ-1, LTI Marksman & Laser Atlanta "R" (looking for an Ultralyte LRB)
2008 Corvette Z-51 Coupe
Escort 9500 ix (Cadillac SRX)
Run both. The ZR4's have great Laser sensitivity in addition to the super M3 radar detection. And while they don't seem to perform as well as some other shifters, they do pretty well in everyday situations where you don't need a JTG. Your truck is going to be tuff to protect that's for sure, but the ZR4's shouldn't be kept in the box they came in...I would install them!

Yea im gonna install them. Later when i get the Li's i will just put them as receivers.
But ive wonder how come videos ive seen of the ZR4 ie: radar roys install show them to work ok?? even on a white suv. Yea then dont JTG the whole time. But from far away it does JTG.
idk. I still want to get the LI tho!

I partially agree and disagree. I agree that the radar portion of the 9500ci should be used but I disagree that the laser portion should be used. There have been various tests showing the ZR4s and LIs working together at the same time. Some of the results have been good while others have shown that the two systems are interfering with each other. I would play it safe and only run the LIs. Turn laser off on the 9500ci.
Everyone has their preferences, and most seem to favor the LI's or Blinders over the ZR4's, but from my own personal experience and from everything I've read, and watched, it appears the ZR4's work as advertised. Does that mean they'll save you everytime...probably not. But then again the LI's and Blinders may not save you every time either. It's a well known fact that Escort designed the ZR4's to alert you ASAP to give you time to slow, not necessarily JTG. I'll admit the youtube videos are impressive to watch showing the LI's and the Blinders JTG but in the real world I think you'll find the ZR3/4's will work just fine most of the time. I have a large metallic silver sedan (not the easiest car to protect) and my ZR4's saved my @$$ the other day with a Pima County Sheriff motorcycle LEO encounter on I-19 heading toward Nogales. I was doing about 18 over PSL and there was about 20 seconds of "Man I hope these frickin things work". LEO just looked at me when I passed him and he targeted the next vehicle. All I ask for is a fighting chance and IMHO the ZR4's give you that. I am going up to radarroys place on the 30th of this month to do some testing. I am very interested in seeing how well the ZR4's perform in a controlled environment. Install yours and see if you can find someone in your area to test your vehicle. At least then you'll know where you stand...you might be pleasantly suprised
BTW, I use VEIL as well as the ZR4's so that probably helped share the workload during my encounter.

That would be cool...where's he located? I will find out how I stack up against a few different LIDAR guns later this month. I'm not expecting anything earth shattering, but I do think the ZR4's will do okay, especially in the "real world". Too many people seem to get hung up on JTG when in most cases you don't need it. As I said before, all I expect is a fighting chance...it should be interesting
