Default Who has returned Redline for repairs?

Questions for those who have returned a Redline to Escort for repairs.
(I am now in that group - but the unit is in transit to Escort, so cannot answer other than 1 and 2.

    1) When was your unit manufactured?

    2) When did you send it in for repair?

    3) Did they inform you of what was fixed, and if so, what was the problem?

    4) Has anyone sent a unit back twice?

    My short list:
    #1 - October 2009
    #2 - August 2010

    2010 Honda Civic Sedan
    Cobra 19 DX IV CB
    Wilson Lil Wil
    Uniden BCT15X Scanner
    Garmin Nuvi 1300

My unit is still good, I just got it so it's pretty new.

I've returned two units. Both were exchanged for a new one, since they were each only a few weeks old.

Ok, but what was wrong with them?

Did they inform you of what was fixed?

Both were heat related - left powered on in the windshield of a parked car in the hot Georgia sun.

#1 lost its speakers and went totally silent.

#2 was flashing "Service Required" and was beeping when I returned to the parked car.

A new one was sent back each time with no mention of what needed to be done to the returned units.

Moral: Don't leave a powered on Redline in the windshield of a parked car on a sunny day.

I go an extra mile, when driving in this summer heat, I direct one of my A/C vents to blow cold air directly onto the unit - keeps it very cool.

X2, RedLines run red hot to begin with, too much additional heat is not good.

    ---

I believe there were some random issues with some of the first made.

Mine is a 5109 and just bought it a few months ago, no issues as of yet.

Mine were both early to mid second quarter 2010's; and they both had problems with the heat. Latest one is 2910, and it's going to be treated differently than the other two.

X2. I went through quite a few S7 8500's and X50's back around 2005-2006, and I always left them in the hot sun and let them power up when I turned on the car. Beginning with the last X50 which I have had for years, I started putting the detector under the seat when I parked and began using the power button to turn them on ... and I have not had a single issue since. I personally don't think that is a coincidence.

I believe sun/heat and start up power surges are bad for the detectors.

    1) When was your unit manufactured? Mine's an early unit, so probably sometime in the September timeframe.

    2) When did you send it in for repair? Mid-February 2010 - it was throwing "Service Required"

    3) Did they inform you of what was fixed, and if so, what was the problem? "Repaired Antenna" on repair card

    4) Has anyone sent a unit back twice? Mine's been fine since then
