Default Not happy with new Redline

Just got mine in Oct 2010, used 4 times and decided to test the rear laser detection. Incredibly, it does not work. Front detection works fine.
Verified that my 955 works front and back with my method, so the Redline will need to go back and be out shipping cost. I was so looking forward to using it this holiday season.
This does make me wonder what level of testing is done before we get them. It would be nice to know as I am using it in Canada. The last thing I want is to have some other bands not work properly or worse it is detectable.

Anyways the reason for this thread is to check with those of you with Redlines if you have tested you rear laser detection for proper operation.

Hope I am an isolated case ... grrrr. ..

Rear laser detection is useless. If you get tagged from behind, you're already toast unless you have a laser jammer. No need to send it back.

Front laser detection is generally useless as well.

You bought a radar detector and are disappointed with its laser detection? You should have done more research before 1.) purchasing it, and 2.) posting this thread.

    Good luck.

Have to agree with all the posts above, radar detector and laser detection are mutually exclusive groups. If you like it's radar detection capabilities then keep it. If you want laser protection purchase jammers.

Did anyone actually read my post?
If you did, then I think you guys totally missed the point.
Of course, laser detection almost always means game over.
But that was not the question, it is of getting a product that has one feature not work as described and having to send it back to be repaired just after you bought it.
For those of you who has bought laser jammers, what would your reaction be if you found out that it cannot detect laser targeted at it and does not turn on the jammer? Do you not want to know that?
The question is, has anyone else who has a Redline ever tested if rear laser detection works at all? (Not how well)
It makes me wonder what else is not working to at least the specs it is advertised at.

    Everybody here read it correctly.

I can tell you personally, if I found out that my Redline rear laser detection was broken, I wouldn't really care at all. I didn't buy the detector for rear laser detection, let alone any sort of laser detection, plus it is an irrelevant feature as it doesn't matter in the world of laser.

And even if I did care, I would send it back and get it fixed. **** happens. Its still under warranty.

And yes, my Redline's rear laser detection works fine.

Haha this is a funny thread...

Laser detection with a radar detector is useless. The Redline is a great RADAR detector. Get laser jammers for LASER.

I guess I see how your pi$$ed that you bought something that doesn't "work." But come on, saying the laser sensor sucks is like saying your airbags are bad. If one of those two things go off, you just got FUBAR'ED. And if you're mad about the rear laser sensor, why aren't you mad about the ramp up, sky high price you paid, the crappy speaker?

Airbags save lives, a rear laser alert is pretty much set in stone when it comes to who the cop was aiming at.
