Try a V1, you might like it. Some of us chose wisely almost two decades ago when picking the V1. We can thump our chest....still.

ANY RD will fall prey to an I/O hit and his is a perfect example. I've been pwned by LEO with my V1 twice on a IO hit, so it as well is NOT immune.

This thread is not a perfect example. The RD failed to alarm, or delayed the alarm with a late hit. Most RDs can miss in the 1/2 second I/O time frame, thanks to Cobras. There are other threads posting failures of front strong signals to the Redline. The problem I see is that all RDs (with their filtering on) will alarm but will delay the alarm 2-5 seconds after the hit. There is no way that you can have a chance to beat I/O with a slow alarming RD. The Leo NEEDS to monitor your speed just for a few seconds (by most laws), and the longer that you allow him to clock you at a steady rate, your screwed. So, he hits you, your RD waites for 3 and 1/2 seconds to alarm, you see the alarm, then it takes 1 1/2 seconds to respond if your good, that is a total of greater than 5 seconds that the Leo sees you at a steady state speed, that is all he needs. Your chances of a ticket is near 100%. Demand a fast RD from the manufactors.........

Thats why I own a s7 995 firm 6.5. along with the rx65 which i just traded in for the bel pro300! Havent missed any off axis,on axis, any i/o shots period. the v1, redline may miss some of these shots and cops are getting better at triggering the radar faster. back in 2005, got tired of things like i/o nailing me on tickets so decided for the fastest rd possible scanning the fewest bands possible like the rx65/pro 300 in usa mode...i dont care what people say about "oh its an m4 and is slow...whatever man, my rx65, and now pro300 in usa mode doesnt miss any shots from i/o to date and has saved me countless times where ive seen videos of the valentine and the 9500ix passport failing miserably at not only i/o shots but simply spotting radar period. theres videos of the 9500ix on youtube which show how bad the 9500ix is at alerting to a threat and how long it takes to alert you the driver to a threat. stick with the non gps raw detection radar and if possible...band segmentation...some other companies are listening and making products now with exactly that...segmentation and making really cool units. i think whistler or cobra made a cool unit that evidently is awesome in ka and k band detection while giving the driver the option to scan and band segment for usa ka band radar with rdr/on or off. if belscort isnt careful, people may start to give these other companies a try and see how they perform. especially when you have 30 days to try out the unit at no cost to you.
if my pro300 wasnt such a "hot unit" i think i got lucky with this unit as its just crazy good with respect to every band and every instant on attack to date, never missing a shot and the off axis is sick on the pro300. i wonder if they are all this good...if so, lookout on the testing cause the pro300 is my top dog unit now. i would have to test it against the magnum to see if worth trading it in but i have a feeling i just got a really hot unit....

I'm no expert, but I'd put my V1 up against your Pro300 in I/O. I know people like to compare themselves and claim to be better than the V1, and do admit that the V1 is by no means perfect, but in my admittedly limited experience with my V1, it has been VERY good with I/O and has been everything I had expected and more. This isn't discreditting your Pro300, as I have read good things about them as well, but I felt compelled to reply to your comment about seeing videos where a Valentine has failed miserably. On that note, I will remind you that every device can develop glitches and/or problems that can affect its performance, however the proven track record of the V1 is clear testament to therr quality and performance.

Here is proof of the performance of my V1 (3.893) in an I/O scenario. I am running this concurrent with a segmented (TSR and RDR off) STiR +, which from what I've read, is a "not bad" RD itself. As the video will show, my V1 and my STiR + both alerted at almost the exact same time - so close I couldn't tell which was first - to a brief I/O Ka shot. Further, the LEO was approx 4.5 miles down the road, behind an overpass, shooting I/O AWAY from me at vehicles (from behind) travelling in my same direction. I've yet to see any video proof of this type of performace from a Pro300 (again...not saying they aren't capable...just haven't seen it).

While I have no way of knowing if your Pro300 would have caught this - and it very well may have I dunno, I considedr this to be pretty remarkable performance from my V1 (I'll leave the STiR + out of the conversation) to I/O - thus countering your claim placing the V1 and the 9500ix in the same "miserable" category. I don't think anyone would dispute that the 9500ix is not at this level, nor is it intended to be (however, I will remind you that the STiR + IS also a GPS unit...)

Finally, I'll raise you and point out that my V1 let me know exactly how nasty of an ambush I had just avoided (due to its rear antenna and arrows), while my STiR + alone, and, I suspect, your Pro300, would have given only a weak alert and left me wondering where the source was.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy your Pro300, and again, I have read that it is a great model. I just don't think it's earned bragging rights over a V1 just yet.

    Anyway...on to the proof:

i dunno, my pro300 in usa mode hasnt missed a ka i/o shot to date. and these local cops and fhp are getting pretty good at it.
in my testing on my trip, i noticed me recieving the "ka1" alarm(in threat) more than 1-2 miles away then silence...but i still slowed knowing this unit hasnt missed in usa mode yet to be anything other than police radar. sure enough once in range a full blast i/o attack to me. the only reason i didnt get nabbed is cause my pro300 sniffed out the shot the cop used on the car way in front of me and i began slowing only to my delightful surprise the unit picked up his ka i/o attack and alerted me with plenty of warning. had it missed the shot, i would have been toast.
also, i never run fast unless i have a rabbit in front of me or it wont matter which detector you have your the first one your toast.
are you sure you didnt miss a early blip from the redline. if not then until more units get band segment like pro300 usa mode, i suspect most units will miss these quick bursts.
i also notice in the pro300 to run without tsr enabled(not used in florida) as ive noticed my k band suffers like what you described as a 3-5 second delay before it will alert you. so i shut it off, problem solved...no need to worry about missing i/o k band shots now. havent missed a ka band i/o yet but i try to drive smart too.

Might of ....I've shot cars with laser making a v1 not even alert...

lets all just be a little honest and say no matter whether you own the redline or pro300 or escort or valentine...if your the first one he nails and is not in sight and you are speeding and get nailed with a laser alert on the radar...your busted so all it really does is let you know you just got a ticket..theres very few times that a radar will only pick up scatter from another car and whose to say that scatter wasnt a direct hit on you as well as the car next to you. laser can pinpoint many cars simply by moving to one car to the next.
in my opinion...laser on radar detectors is useless. without a good jammer like blinder or Li, your toast...period. even the escort zr4 shifter is better protection than just a radar detector.
