YesMy bell 995 which is internally identical is a MAJOR LEAKER ! Also my v1 ! LOL!
There is a little known secret no one will tell you or they don't actually understand.
Almost ALL detectors, except for the twin antenna stealth-ed models, emit microwaves on traffic radar freqs.
Ignorant people blame it all on cheap Cobra detectors.
better for them not to blame their favorite models I guess.
This is wrong. The reason they think this is, is the NUMBER of these older cobra detectors on the road compared to other models.

BUT..
amazingly the whistler company with the whistler 78 Se has managed to pull off a minor miracle with this detector. It leaks so little it doesn't set off any off my other detectors !
the only trouble is that I'm not impressed with it performance.![]()
All radar detectors emit, even the highly touted " twin antenna stealth-ed models" (Bel/Escort M3 models) emit. Some just emit worse than others, and some emit in a frequency range that really pisses off other detectors. M4 based Escorts will set off other detectors if they are in the same car together, many older Bels and a lot of Cobra and other cheaper models can cause other detectors to alert from very long distances (I have seen up to 1/2 mile).
