Update: Now that I have had much more time and many more miles put on my 2nd (exchanged) Max, I would have to say that it is rated AVERAGE. Maybe a C+! Sort of miss my V1 and Redline now. I am hoping that the 1.7 update and later ones will vastly improve the Max, but I am a dreamer...Out of $549.00 I guess...

I have bought different detectors over the years to see for myself which I like. Nothing wrong with that.

IMO dud. OLED display sure looks nice, but it's not gonna improve your detection capabilities. You're paying for a flashy device with lots of features, but not the best performance.

After getting the itch to upgrade my 9500ix. I ended up getting an STi-R Plus.

It is very nice. Still some annoyances, but no show stoppers.

I have the same opinion. Actually I go a step further and prefer the 8500X50 Black to the Max2.
My humble observation(s) after evaluation of the 8500 X50 Black/Max2/Redline/V1 for our Rally Cars....
