    So, which is it?
    1) You have NO idea whether it worked correctly when installed?
    2) Or, you DID know that it didn't work when installed, but didn't bother to do anything about it until it was out of warranty?

Not defending the OP, but Escort does have a history of poor customer service. In the future if you have an issue with any Escort or Beltronics product contact EscortRadar (member) on this or Escort's forum in a private message. Larry is an upstanding guy who provides excellent customer service.

That would be #1 I didn't notice it wasn't working when it was installed. My point being my milage which was less than 5K is a true test of how often it was used, not the months it sat in the garage.

Main point is customer service failed on every count, even though I PAID for the repair. There is no excuse for failing to contact the customer and taking over a month to replace an item.

On the contrary, Escort is known to have good CS, and exceptional CS through EscortRadar (who works for Escort). Sure there are complaints, there always will be no matter the manufacturer. But to say they have a history of poor CS is confusing problems with some newer product vs CS.

Absolutely wrong. They have horrible customer service and continue to:

My control unit came back with a note to call the technician. I placed 3 phone calls and never got a return call from anyone.

So I took the unit back in to have it reinstalled only to find out that the problem still exists and that it is now the brain or control center that needs to be sent in.

I called customer service again and the woman said that I had been offered a deal but I refused. huh?? I asked what deal? by whom? I said the only deal I got was to pay full price, have it misdiagnosed and then held for a month with no response. She said she just forwarded my request to speak with a supervisor and they said they are refusing to deal with me. She said she didn't know why, but she did say that I seemed reasonable and didn't raise my voice but her supervisors are telling her what to say. She said her supervisor was sitting right there but refused to get on the phone. Refusing to deal with a paying customer with no explanation is discrimination and illegal. I never gave anyone a reason not to deal with me, never used profanity, never raised my voice etc.. All customers must be treated equally or its capriciously practicing illegal discrimination.

Yes, we got the point that YOU had a horrible customer service experience.

Yes I am having horrible customer service. But Im not confusing the product reliability and customer service. They are two separate issues and both FAIL. Im saying from my experience, that anyone considering buying this product must also consider the same thing could happen to them. The product will fail in 15K miles of use and you will get zero support from Escort. Now they have to wonder if its worth it because this model needs to be installed, bumper and grill taken off, dashboard disassembled, its quite invasive and expensive. This is not the visor or suction cup model. Who wants to play the game, "yeah the supervisors here but won't get on the phone…" I wonder if anybody anywhere has ever heard that from a company in any industry??????? Escort is absurd.
