So here is my story, I am a careful driver although I do drive fast. A few months ago I got a ticket partially due to inattention and partly due to my junk RD. Solution.....New Escort 8500 X50. This thing has saved me several times so now I am on a quest to outfit my other vehicles with better RD equipment.
I actually registered for this forum some time back but just got around to posting. I look forward to learning alot here and perhaps in time being a help to others.
Considering a bel 955 for my wifes car after reading several reviews it looks like a good choice.

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a budget? There are alot more RDs out there that are better than the X50 such as the V1 ($400) and the 9500ix ($500).

I like my x50 a lot but I think I'm going to be trading it up for the V1 in the next couple weeks. If you want I can let you know how much of a difference I experience?

I never understood this phrase......When you speed you are not being careful. It all depends how fast u r going over the PSL.

Yeah, and then he goes on to admit he got a ticket because of inattention. If you are being inattentive, you are not being careful. Not being careful is what got you a ticket, as well it should have. Not to call you out, Bro, but you probably ought to put more focus on becoming a better driver than in avoiding the police.

imo u actually pay more attention to the road when say u are going a decent amount above the psl as to just coasting along with the other drivers at 70 in a 65

Maybe "u" do, but obviously not everyone does. Do you think everyone drives exactly like "u"?

Most PSLs are bull****... obeying it rarely has anything to do with prudence.

Allow me to explain myself a little better. I think I am very good about being aware of conditions however I got a ticket when I allowed myself to be distracted. My wife got a call from our son at our business and we were discussing a situation that had just occured. Before I knew what had happened I topped a hill and entered a construction zone and had a ticket before I could react Lessson learned..........
