New Here: important question

Hey everyone im obv.new here and i currently have a valentine v1.7..
now I've read a lot of reviews and have heard that the new update is not worth it depending where you live. I live in NJ and I have no idea if the police around here use POP and i was just wondering what your opinion was because i saw your post about the comparison b/n the 1.8 and 1.7. I mean just today i had two Ka saves (non troopers) but it still gave me notice to slow down. and its not like im in a M3 or anything im in a 08 4 door wrangler but tend to find myself going about 10 over the PSL.


Is spending 189 bucks really worth it? I bought the 1.7 for 300 and really didn't plan on upgrading it, so for me it was a great deal. But now i am second guessing myself because of people saying that i need the extra pertection. As far as X and K bands, it seems perfect but i have not really encountered a lot of Ka band and i was wondering what type of range i would be getting. thanks a lot for the help.
