    Default Canadian Laser Jammer Laws

Could anyone elaborate on the Canadian laws for interfering with a laser frequency? I can't seem to find anything online and interested as to how serious police would take it. Alberta provincial laws would be best but I'm sure it will be relatively similar nation wide.

Actually no..... this is a provincial jurisdiction. Obviously if a jurisdiction outlaws radar detectors then jammers are illegal as well.

RDs are illegal anywhere east of Saskatchewan and thus jammers are as well

However, I believe some obstruction charges have been laid in BC although I dont know the trial outome.

Using a kill switch is a necessity regardless

Actually that is not correct. Laser jammers are not illegal in Quebec, as the relevant section of legislation only refers to radar devices. Ontario specifically defines "radar" as "radar and/or laser", but Quebec does not. Don't know about other eastern provinces.

In Quebec it is a fine of $ 600 + confiscation of the equipement ....
    but no demerits point ....

The fine could go up $ 1000 in case of recidive ...

Any film or product found on the licence plate incurs a fine of $ 500 ...
now with photo-radar they don't want to loose a single dollars ,
    no front plate in Q.

I still look for an effective/stealth cm against Robot traffic , I believe the system works by laser ....yesterday I passed close to one ....no signal on the
detector . At night they claim the illumination is from a infrared flash.
Very hard to find solid information for those units ....like a top secret.

What is the cost of speeding where you are located? Does the speeding fine out way the cost of the fine for getting caught with a jammer? That is a question to ask yourself.
If you use the jammer correctly you should have no issues. Many forum members use them in locations that are illegal and have had no issues!

    Love your list Cliff.

FYI, Newfoundland & Labrador are the same province.

You forgot Ontario, Quebec (the two are about 60%+ of the total Canadian population), Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island.

You mention Northwest Territories (I figure there are about 4 miles of paved road up there...ever seen Ice Road Truckers?), but forgot Yukon, and Nunavut.

    Just helping our Canadian friends.
