    Default Jammer for Impreza STI

    Hello ppl.
I drive a '03 Impreza STi, black color.
Currently V1 is the only "protection" I have.
LTI20-20 is the only gun used here (Israel) when 90% are head shots and 10% rear.
Maximal distance a cop can take a shot is 1000feet.
I'v been looking to get the M47 but as budgets are tighter now, looking for a cheaper option. Will M27 do the job (at least for the front)? Is it possible to later upgrade and add 2 more sensors for the back?
    Other ideas?

An M27 would do fine on that front end. I'd Veil the headlights for extra safety, but it should not require four heads. Just remember, performance is very much dependent upon the quality of your installation.

You can indeed add more heads later for rear coverage. If that thing has the spoiler I see in the Google pics, that makes it an easy install!

As for the prevalence of rear shots, the numbers are misleading. While they may only do it ten percent of the time, that ten percent are the people they couldn't get a reading on from the front, which includes those who jammed them. That means if you have a front jammer, your chances of getting hit from the rear just went way up.

    Thanks for the prompt answer.
Indeed my baby has a big rear spoiler, but how does it helps to install the heads? Shouldn't they be on the same level of the plate? I could post a link to a pic of my car, but ....15 post limit....
Anyway, you say that the controling unit of the M27 is the same as M47, and I just need to buy the 2 extra heads in the future?

That's only for hotlinking photos. You can still ATTACH photos using the paperclip icon in the posting window.

Correct. There are four ports on any Blinder system. All you do is plug in extra heads later.

The drawback to Blinders is that the heads are pretty deep, seriously limiting your mounting options, especially on the rear of a car. But you can attach them to the underside of a spoiler, which makes it a lot easier.

The plate is not your primary concern. It is covered by two concentric rings of protection from your heads. It's your taillights, that are widely separated and covered by only one head, that you have to worry about.

    Hello fellow Scooby lover.

Unfortunately, all those scoops, flares, and spoilers of the Imprezas are not doing you any favors.

The front will require a M47 for a "sure thing."

Although we know from steagall1000's testing, first posted on STH.net, that the M25 presents a "hole" on the outer aspects of the front headlamps on the "peanut-eye/helicopter-eye"-generation Imprezas (an STi was also used for that demo, and it's something that steagall, as you may remember from my citations on this STH.net thread: Choosing a perfect protection system - in which I conversed with you about this, directly - that steagall keeps trying to bury, see posts #20 and #31 on that thread), I think that with the improved receptive capabilities of the Mx7 units, you should be OK.

For the rear, particularly considering jammer head placement issues, it's going to make things very, very difficult.

I'd say that given your engagement/encounter odds, do the fronts, first.

Sorry for the delay. Had some problems with the computer and no time to fix it

TSi+WRX, so yo usay that I'd need a 4 head to protect the FRONT ONLY? Maybe it's a batter (read cheaper) idea to buy 2 head LI that will do the job for the front?

th3 factory freak: I got your PM. As my post count is low, I can not answer you

    No problem.

You don't need a 4 head kit for this car, 2 will do, at least if it's the Laser Interceptor.

That would be my choice. There's not a lot of real estate on that front end for four Blinder heads. Although, every photo I can find of that car looks different, so please attach one that looks EXACTLY like your car.
