(update 9/6/2010... I did talk to Cliff @ LI - he called me literally 5 minutes after I sent him an email asking him if he could look at my set up. See my update further in the thread with todays post date 9.6.2010)
(update 9/28/2010) After several hours of testing with my new Ultralyte LRB turns out my set up works perfectly. The laser interceptor did not allow a single P/T. Turns out the sensors must have been blocked / obstructed by the crest of the hill. See the testing video on post #131, page ~14.
I have the LI dual head set up with a third single head in the rear. This morning at 430AM on the way back from Chicago to mke I was blasted with an Ultralyte 20/20 gun at 1984 feet and was cited for 97mph in a 65. Joyous moment really. $342. 6 points. 32 over. I don't know why my laser interceptor did not work but it did alert simultaneously as the V1 was alerting. He took one hit and that apparently was all he needed. My jaw dropped when he said '97' mph. I asked to see the gun after he handed me the citation and he was happy to show it to me. Sure enough the pink backlit display indicated 97mph.
Conditions were clear, asphalt 3 lane interstate. The only thing i can think of that would have decreased effectiveness of the LI is that I was coming over a very mild crest in the road, similar to the pic attached... From memory I understand the diodes used in the LI have about a 22 degree horizontal effective area and a 9 degree vertical area. I would think the jamming would still be effective enough even if the cop was 15-20 feet lower in elevation that my car at the point of shot...? The picture is not the actual interstate but almost identical set up at time of laser shot.
