Default mounting inside car behind windshield?

Never got a clear answer so which is it, can it be done, this would be more for those cars that do NOT have a suitable grill placement, hell some cars now days do not have a grill unless your talking about scrapping the asphalt which I do not think is going to help much. So can this technology work behind a windshield???

    Here's my educated GUESS......

If the range of a lidar gun is cut down through the glass (windshield)............ My bet is that sending pulses BACK to the LIDAR unit deminishes the efefctiveness of the "jammer" head. (Less range)

I'd avoid "behind" the glass. IMHO.

My house windows have something that defeats the Stalker and gives the LTI Marksman trouble getting their reflections..........

when shooting laser thru a window i found I only get half the range as if i was standing outside in the clear. So I would assume it is the same for jamming.

Are your house windows double pane? If so, do you happen to know if theres any kind of inert gas inside?

If the range of a lidar gun is cut down through the glass (windshield)
Automotive glass, IIRC, is typically made mixing Iron, and sometimes a copper oxide near the blue-green tint at the top with the Silica (I'm sure there are lots of other trace ingredients, but I couldn't tell you what they are). This effectively turns your windshield into something that reflects/absorbs a fair amount of infrared energy.

Given that it's going reflect infrared, mounting your jammer on the inside of your windshiled would significantly reduce it's effectiveness.

Additionally, unless you drive an old Jeep Wrangler, where the windshield is angled near vertical, I'm guessing the glass (and PVB) will refract the infrared light that does get through to an unusable angle.

    I think we have BINGO!

Double paned and sure there's some gas in their to slow down heat loss / transfer.

It also wont work at all if you have those new tinted windows from Europe...they screw most things up.
