What they have been tested on, and what they have been independently tested on are two very different things.

And as Category4 notes, there is no customer support for the product in the U.S. That is a very significant factor in this game, where problems often arise. Every jammer manufactured occasionally encounters problems requiring customer support. With Escort, Blinder, and LI, those problems are always quickly and satisfactorily resolved. With AntiLaser, we have nothing but reports of dissatisfaction in the past. I can't imagine spending more money for a lesser jammer, and then receiving no customer support when a head fails.

Thought we tested some sort of G9 during one of the CFLs. Not sure it was the most up to date, though. And not sure it was against all guns. Lemme see...

    Here's one:

That was against: Euro/US TS, Pro Lite, and UL.

    Here's a single head G9:

Euro/US TS, PLIII, UL, LA (normal and stealth)

Both of those were 19.32 G9. Seems the perform pretty well on a black car.

It all depends what feature you're buying into...
If you talk about pricing (big price difference) and CS, LI takes the lead...
If you talk about feaibility in your installation, ALG9 may serve you better due to its size...
    Quality, I would say ALG9, I haven't heard RMA's yet...

I ran the G8 for 3 years....I had an intermittent false signal for a couple weeks, then issue mystriously went away. No other issues. A buddy (we bought two of the singles at same time) has also ran for 3 years with no issues at all.

Gald you had good luck with the G8, all the people I know that had the AL g8 weren't that lucky.

AL was attempting to formally enter the US market until Blinder brought a lawsuit against one jammer company to enforce their patent. After that AL in the usa was no longer

So I suggest if you are alooking for a newer jammer you have two choices, first the Blinder M27/M47 or Laser Interceptor.

I didn't mean it literally. I was sure someone would have them, but their numbers, or lack there of, is quite small compared to the number of LI and Blinder (hell, even Escort) users.

Chit, doesn't surprise me about outrun. Didn't he have ALs since they were G7 (or w/e it was called). I remember those videos with him and FF. Also remember the G8s having the "6-month-bomb" issue. I guess the G9s are better built.

I would definitely get the LI if the sensors were sized smaller, but they are too big for the beefy ABS slats on my grill. i.e. cutting this grill would be a significant project with very possible bad results, relative to my touareg grill which was made of polyethylene and easily modified for sensor.

Plus the three test results in this thread were all pretty positive. Additionally, as far as customer service is concerned, all my dealings with the AL guys have been positive...the only negative is that if you do have to send something off for repair, you could be down awhile. On my G8 install i had Car Toys fish the cable thru fire wall for me and the connector was slightly damaged (one of the contact strips was mushed over). I didnt realize at first what was wrong and almost had to send entire one piece, cable and sensor back for repair. I was happy to see that on G9 they have incorporated a two piece cable so that connector no longer has to be fished thru wall.

Not sure about the patent, suit stuff; but back in late 2006 i had to send a certified check in EUROS to purchase and now it is a simple credit card transaction.

I appreciate everyones input, but unless i am totally missing something i dont think i am sacrificing much and am getting a cleaner install.

or you could cut the grill... remember ALG9 doesn't have an US distributor...
